Here's some extended footage and opinions (some GREAT opinions) on the game:

I never pre order games, but my love for From Software and the Souls series just can't stop me from breaking my rule. Anyone else excited for this?

Also, I did an extensive search on existing threads, I couldn't see any other than in the console section.

Nah, it's past it unfortunately. I've had to cancel several new build plans for what feels like forever. Maybe this summer I can finally hit the purchase button.

Sad times, however, I doubt there will be much graphical change between consoles and PC apart from fps and higher resolutions. So either way, it will be epic :D

I'm so excited, not pre ordered a game since... Dark Souls 3 oddly enough. Which I've still not gotten round to finishing, got close but lost a save and just haven't had the time recently. I normally 100% on my initial playthroughs, which as we know, a From Software game has a LOT of nooks and crannies.

Can't wait for it but I hope people don't think this is another Bloodborne or Souls and end up disappointed. There are no builds, armours or even levelling up in this game. It's its own thing.

I always ended with with dex builds, it's the world and story I love from these games. I'm glad this one isn't online either. Purely focused on a story and mastering the combat. I can't wait to get parrying down to a T.

That's disappointing. What does the game has going for it then apart from the Japanese theme?

I think it's more the appeal of having the backbone of the previous Souls and BB games for the combat, making it unforgiving and challenging. However, allowing Hidetaka Miyazaki to stretch his legs in terms of story telling up front rather than though tidbits and focusing on a more linear solo player experience. I am super excited for the focus on the game rather than build. It will help with getting better at combat rather than relying on builds to be OP. I get why some souls fans would see this as a step back, but I see it as a step sideways which is always a good thing in my book.

Exactly. This time round, you'll actually have to get better properly instead of grinding a few levels here and there to make a boss easier or relying on some specific builds being effective. Plus more focus on story, completely diffrent setting and reworked combat, so it'll feel fresher. It's more of a challenging From-flavoured action-adventure game than typical SoulsBorne which is fine by me.

I cannot wait to get better at parrying, it's something I've never been good at in Souls games, I can't even begin to imagine how good it's going to feel perfectly parrying a bosses flurry of attacks only to be followed up by a riposte kill. I NEED THIS GAME!

It's also reminding me of Ninja Gaiden, of which I was a huge fan of back in the day. That game was TOUGH and was similar in a sense that there was no 'builds' or OP'd weapons (from memory) and you simply had to 'git gud' lol.

Add me as another CDKeys pre-orderer. Played the crap out of DS3, and played a little Bloodborne.

really interested to see wha From has given us here.

I really hope it's a success, I'm glad they are trying out new things, their art style is simply amazing and their ability to level design is second to none (with exceptions of course... LOOKING AT YOUR DEMON RUINS).

doh I'm a dolt, no wonder I thought this looked down-grade - I was thinking of Ghosts of Tsushima and forgot there were 2 Samurai games coming out this year xD

performance not looking so good for consoles atm, but that's why we game on PC right ;)

It's unfortunate they are still having issues with the same engine. We have both a PS4 Pro and an Xbox One X, if I end up getting a console version for sofa playing, I'll get it on the One X.

Releases midnight EDT, which is 9pm for me. Looks like I'm playing tonight then! My day just got infinitely better.

EDIT: This game will unlock in approximately 22 hours

nvm then :(

I'm not fist pumping at my desk. Or am I.....

But in all seriousness, this game is one of my "must play" titles this year and I am not a patient fellow by any means.

Same, I've not been pumped for a game like this since Dark Souls III. I've still held off pre order though, miraculously. I will be buying it an hour or 2 after release unless there is something drastically wrong.

Unlocked on steam for me

Pre loading here still, 1927 at time of posting. Excited! The wife is at GDC, well was and is now out celebrating with friends, I've ordered takeout, just me, the dog and Sekiro for the night :D

I'm a bit bummed they've not updated the physics engine to accommodate for anything above 60fps still. 144hz gsync would have been lovely for this type of action.

Welp, chucked in a few hours, exploring every nook and crannie, worked my way through to the burning estate to get to the boss but saved it there after dieing and upgraded a few skills.

I tried not to resurrect but have done twice... The urge is terrible and I really wanted a no dragonrot playthrough, but alas, I have failed.

I'm really liking this, a lot. Already up there as one of my faves.

Come across some "purple ninja" and gosh darn it he's kicking my butt.
I believe he's a optional sub-boss, so I'm tempted to just leave him be and come back later...but I'm obsessed with him, I NEED him to die.

The guy surrounded by shadows in a small cave? With the glowing sword? How do you tackle him? I barely do any damage and can't even move properly.

Also, those that have progressed a fair bit, how bad is Dragon Rot ultimately? I've got 4 people inflicted with it now. Still not done the butterfly boss but I'm past the snake.

Ohhhh, the dude on the roof. Yep, just spotted him. Wish me luck.

So, he's kicking my arse. And I've not used resurrect. However on one of my deaths, I got my 5th death rot notification? I thought it was only when you resurrected rather than die?

EDIT: Another thing that's really starting to get on my nerves, the hitboxes are diabolical at times. 5 feet away from an enemy yet still get hit. I am loving the game so far, but the combat is so hit and miss in terms of if you're going to block or dodge an attack.
