self built computer wont start

With regards to the memory the board inidicates the slots are laid out -

With the CPU to the left :

DIMM 2 DIMM 1 DIMM 4 DIMM 3

Put your memory in the two black slots and let us know.

This was it.

I used the system build guide and placed the memory like said here

So I had placed the memory on DIMM 2 and DIMM 4. Instead of DIMM 1 and DIMM 3.

I switched them around and now my computer starts up properly

can I ask what the last thing you changed was? was it the memory?

Its usually always the memory lol I checked mine about 5 times when i was building my current rig to make sure

strange that stopped it booting tbh.... my dimms are in wrong slots, cba to change em cause it is running fine in dual channel

Errr, this is odd, my cd key doesn't work for windows 7.. and I bought it legally
