I just sold a monitor in the MM thread and need to book the courier. usually I use Interparcel and I noticed they have a prohibited items list, PC monitor is one of those items they do not cover to send.

So basically any ideas how I can send it the cheapest safest way? I also tried Parcel2Go but they have basically the same restricted items list.

Monitor weights 0.5 stone.

And dont say something daft like get a donkey to send it or something, thanks :)

Almost all couriers don't cover lcd panels for damage, probably best just wrapping it up very very well and risking it.

sod it done it on interparcel. it is well wrapped up, in its original box (polystyrene and screen cover), about 3 bin liners on the outside too.

touch wood theres not many speed bumps where its going :D

There was a thread on here a while ago about parcelmonkey and monitors. Needless to say it wasn't a positive outcome.

They use couriers, PF or City Link.. Providing its insured it shouldn't be problem..

It will, because they will take the money for the insurance and it won't be covered because its listed as an exceptional item alongside glassware, ceramics, works of art, bonds, cash, perishables, precious stones, antiques, plasma screens, stamps, securities, furs, money orders, tobacco and wines and spirits*

*this list is representative and not a full list of exceptional items.

Parcelmoney exclude monitors, last thread on here related to one which went missing, as in completely gone. Chap couldnt claim from the insurance as they exclude monitors.

Others posted similar woes, suggestion was all monitors go missing, as they shouldnt be transported that way in the first place.

OP bit stable doorish, but when you posted the ebay listing had you not considered postage delivery costs for the item?
