Sensible Soccer

So? Does it make the game play better? I don't get it, it makes no difference.

It doesn't do anything for the game really but some just don't like false names. After years of playing with Ritman Rovers, Stevens City, Merseyside Red and Man Blue it just doesn't bother me anymore, especially when the game costs just over £5.

Just played the trial, still as good as I remember :) Will get it once I have some more points. Anyone know a cheap place to get them?

Forgot how good the music was "You're a goal scoring superstar hero!" :D

I never had an Amiga as a kid (I know, child abuse!) but the Mega Driver version of the original Sensible Soccer didn't have real names either. I always thought it added to charm of the game though.

Anyway, it's not like it's hard to work out who Ryun Goggs is supposed to be!

They've pulled it from downloads apparently so if you haven't got it already you will have to wait until they've fixed the problems.

After all the delay you would think they would get it right first time tbh. Don't know the exact details, but this is not the first time they have released an Arcade/game port with added online where the first thing the game does is log you off Live!!

Not a purchase for me anyway, just commenting (After a week I am sure that people will realise this is not as good as it was back in the day)

Still showing on Major Nelson's page and the stuff about advertising etc which sounds intrusive to me.

Yeah, it's pretty poor.. I'm guessing it's something to do with the auto-updating mechanism and the shift to the production Live servers.. hopefully it won't take long to fix.

I used to play this all the time at uni.. I can't believe quite how rubbish I am at it now :D

i got it and i loving it. the damn disconnection thing is annoying though im glad its not just me that suffers from it. im sure they will fix and we just delete and redownload when its sorted.

i did used to like the names prsonally i like to get attached to my players get hat tricks with cantona etc etc.

I know what you're saying but I think this has aged really well. I have played the Amiga original recently (so I'm not comparing it to a cherished memory) and it's exactly the same aside from the HD graphics. All I need now is a good joystick and Kick-Off 2 and that's me satisfied for football games for a long while. I'd rather play this than PES 2008 or FIFA 08.

side note: play kick off 2 online using amiga emulator
