Serious Sam 3 Announced

This isn’t as good as the 1st 2 games. There is a lot of bugs as well (may have been fixed by now) the main one I got was level 5 the mouse just kept spinning and spinning. I reset, reloaded, uninstalled reinstalled and even skipped the level using cheat but no still got the mouse spin of death!

Played the game through to end with few mates back when it first came out, none of us experienced a problem.

SS3 is more or less bug free going by most reports and certainly does not feature any game breakers, so I suspect you fell victim to one the supposedly few hidden anti-piracy features. ;)

I've just started level 11 of 12, and I haven't encountered any bugs either.
Well, maybe a lighting bug in a very early level (the museum).
Other than that, this game is a pure pc game - handles eyefinity perfectly, allows you to tweak dozens of graphic settings, has quicksaves and checkpoints, starts up on the game menu screen rather than a redundant "press start to begin" screen - absolutely perfect.

Yeah getting some weird screen flickering, vsync seems to fix it but not completely.

Co-op is great fun, Some battles are pure epic. Which is pretty much why I bought it.

One thing I hate is the game's over-reliance on kleer mobs. God I hate the buggers. They are just a pain more than anything. I've yet to find a working strategy, apart from mowing them down with minigun fire, that is until you run out of ammo. So far, best is hang around a wall, let them bash into it, and melee-spam. And shotguns are useless.

Maybe a chainsaw...

SS3 should tide me over until Borderland 2 comes out.

yes the Kleers are a ******* to kill, there's so many of them all at once, you just have to grit your teeth and keep moving.. use the mini gun and make sure it's always full of ammo.

but you can always tell when they're about to mass spawn in the distance..

i was killed like crazy yesterday, i felt too tired to game, the only thing i really hate about SS is that it's quite hard to cycle a weapon quickly when you get **** scared, because only a few of them are any good against mass spawnings like this.

picking the wrong weapon will get you killed instantly, i've never played a game that spawns so many all at once, yesterday was a nightmare, this game is a waste of time playing if you're tired out beforehand !

this aint Borderlands or Crysis, it's a million times harder

i do have to say that these games are only really for die hard shooters, dont get it if you're an RPG fan, because i've never sworn so much at a game in my life, on the last two levels; even on the easiest mode, i must have died about 80 times ha ha!

you literally scream with terror when you see all the AI comming down the canyon after you, it's like a tidal wave of death ! and this happens time and time again, after ever ammo drop, it totally exhausts you !

Ha! Try doing the Queen Hatshepsut achievement - complete the final level (including the brutal final boss geezer) without dying or loading. It's a bit of a beast... LOTS of running backwards...

Yes, I've never been a fan of kleers. They were a little easier in Sam2, they had fewer HP and their final leap wasn't quite as brutal. For me though, they just do too much damage with their leap attack.

With kleers, you really have two options: If you're facing a mob, try to take them down from a distance. The rocket launcher is really effective, as is the minigun / lasergun. If you have enough room to run backwards, and they're all spawning from the same place, then a kleer mob shouldn't be too tough.

When kleers get close, it's all about the double shotgun. Stand and face them, let them start to leap, then unload at point-blank range. Two full barrels will put them down instantly, even on serious difficulty. Alternatively, you can use the sledgehammer in a similar way, though it needs more precise timing.

If you get surrounded, then the chances are you're dead. Try to get the hell out of there, and switch to the biggest non-splash gun you have (minigun / lasergun / assault rifle). But really, with kleers, you need to make sure they don't surround you. That's the golden rule.

You have to learn the keyboard shortcuts - Sam has too many weapons to cycle through using the scroll wheel. And he somehow manages to keep all of them hidden in his jeans!

I agree, the double shotgun is my weapon of choice against Kleers - wait till the last moment and blast them in the face.
If you do get surrounded, all isn't lost - just run the hell away, in a kind of zigzag. If you time it right you'll have kleers whipping past you, just missing, then when ytou break them up a bit, turn and (running backwards) shoot them one by one.

I was stunned when i saw people on youtube changing weapons using the mouse wheel. You really need to use the numbers, anf the Q button to switch back to your last used weapon.

I actually get cramp in my wrist from trying to reach all the numbers as well as the WASD/QER & shift keys. Other shooters don't strain me in the same way - it's all the quick changing of weapons that does it. I'm tempted to rebind the harder-to-reach weapon keys to the "\", z and x keys.

tried 16 players, too much spam, and the enemies are obviously more difficult to kill.

Plus waiting for everyone to load, people dropping, new people coming in with slow hard drives... I'm always the first to finish, and that's only with a Samsung F3. Some people have seriously antiquated hardware.

4-6 players is pretty much bang on otherwise.

Just watched the "Making of..." which came with the Deluxe edition.

At the end, they say the story is not over... then show this...
