Seriously though...

BF3 on full ultra with 2xAA gets 70+ FPS and crysis never drops below the v-sync. How is that not bang for buck?

Now run Photoshop filters on a 3200x2000 image and see which is faster.

It's all a matter of use; your primary goal seems to be a game that isn't CPU bound in any way :)

OP is a troll. i5 760 does not have HT and i can boot into windows in seconds.

Idiot threads like this should result in the OP being banned!!

I really dont get all the noise about these 2500K's - why would you want a chip without HT? Day-to-day basically makes the PC slow as ****... Ok you may get a few more FPS when in game but so what... by the time the map has loaded half the match is over!

And getting into windows takes FOREVER, almost physically painful. I hated and regretted every second i owned that aweful i5 750 - i should have bought the 760 with HT...

But that is last gen... So the option now is simular - cant have a 2500K because of no HT so the other option is a 2600K or 2700K but they are 250+ quid. Even the intel fanboys must concede that is pretty steap?!

So what is the final option.... AMD. CPU, Mobo & Ram for the price of a sandybridge - BF3 on full ultra with 2xAA gets 70+ FPS and crysis never drops below the v-sync. How is that not bang for buck?

I appriciate people use PC's for different things but i just couldnt bring myself to spend my hard earnt cash on something i be ultimately dissapointed with...

Ok, just saying, flame away.... :)

HT are the virtual cores arnt they? if thats it,, so what, if you want ht(virtual cores) buy a i7, as it has 4 real cores and 4 virtual cores

slightly related to this nonsense but i've noticed in windows that on my i7 half the cores are parked unless running a multithreaded app, assuming they are the HT virtual cores, does windows actually use them? I know windows supports HT but does it use it for OS related threads at all?

not even a disguised troll post, blatant and i really should have ignored it and not even both posting... why must i feed the trolls.. (their so cute...)

Ohhh no, why didn't someone tell me this 2 years ago when I bought an I5 750 without hyper-threading!!!111ONE ...I started booting my freshly built computer up in September/October 2009 and I just now managed to get it all booted up so I could log onto OcUK to find out where I went so wrong!

Wow.
