Server down....help!

Please do yourself a favour buy an actual server instead of putting SBS on that desktop you call server. This whole "it's good enough, it works, its cheap, we're only a small company, blah blah blah" attitude is the reason you were in a panic on the forums earlier. Buy a little piece of mind, it isn't that expensive.

Our "so called server" was built as a server, its also better than most cheap branded servers both on power and redundancy so i dont feel inclined to change it any time soon as we will lose power and money gaining nothing!

I think he's more implying about the level of support if something does happen. As rare as it may be it's always good to have it!

Correct. A self built machine just doesn't cut it for business, just buy a branded server and be done with it.

Not really ignoreance, i know a dam site more about my business and its needs than anyone on here. XP works fine, however the hardware is much better than most basic servers, add a server OS as we will be later this year and voila....its a server!

"Much better than most basic servers" in what way?

I'd take a less powerful, branded server with a proper storage adapter and drives over any homebuilt machine.
