SETI@Home News Vol. 136 25th - 1st July 2011

Calm down Mr TTB, I'm sure Mr berserker will be along soon enough.

Have a look at the sig page on team ocuk http://www.teamocuk.co.uk/tsig/bs_setup.php

You can change the font size there, and see what it does to the example code, and then apply the corresponding logic to your own sig code as necessary.
hth

Thanks for that Mr kolala sah much appreciated will have a go today :)

Back at 3.8Ghz and GPU's are running on high lets go!! :D :D :D

Edit: Make that 4Ghz I haven't been to 4Ghz in ages  :)

Morning Mr 4g nice to see your up and about with the rig, how you finding the newer gpu drivers and lunatics ?

Nice one, mine is on the rise too funny how it plummets so quickly and it takes forever to crawl back up to where you once stood :(:)

Morning all, seems as though seti is back where it was earlier in the week. Allthough the splitters have been running constantly for the last few days they just cannot keep up.
So hopefully you all filled your cache earlier in the week and you will not be seeing "project has no tasks available" constantly :(

**Edit** There was a time when i blamed Mr Halz sah for everything as he is on extended leave i have no other option to point the finger of blame at ... Mr Marine Iguana :eek::p;)

Hi chaps,

Is the lack of work related to the constant funding problems they've been having? (http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_donate.php)

Also, how do you tell you've got Lunatics set up right? I'm not doing any of this fancy GPU crunching, just SSE 4.1 on the normal WUs and SSE on AP. I've got a normal WU right now processing on AK_v8b_win_x64_SSE41.exe, sounds like the right one doesn't it? The "show graphics" button has greyed out too.

It seems to be a hell of a lot faster though

Morning Joeyjojo :)

Sounds like you have lunatics setup right, when you install it it finds the boinc path etc.
Its machine related problems they are having from what i can tell, true funding is allways an issue but right now its hardware.
In boinc manager click on message boards and there is generally some news about whats going on (or down as the case may be) or add the link to your favourites

**Edit** Mr Marine is just showing off coz his cache is full when he knows i am sweating like a big girl at a a disco with only 11 tasks left :p;):D

For the first time in ages all my rigs have work:D

Also got my 560ti soc's back in the game, was beginning to think i would have to rma them cos seti was throwing up errors, added a little voltage and now they are stable(at the stock clocks) should be good for at least another 35k:)

Bravo Mr BaBa sah nowt worse than having to rma something glad it worked out.
Myself hmmmmph am a bit work starved at the moment will keep my fingers crossed today, you'll be stomping me before long sah :(:)

Yes you are firmly in my sights Mr Edge;)

Think you have an overtake first but should catch ya just after that:D

Just had to roll back driver on my 560's one of them was downclocking to 405mhz:confused:

greets all, am back and crunching :)
since this news post, i lost my 10 slot to pnutty, but it might look like i've started up in time to claim it back (for the day?) before the next news post... fingers crossed the output keeps up :)
regarding rolling back drivers, I had a windows update one for my network usb stick thing that made it cease to work; pretty surreal.

Afternoon all.

Guess you should be moving me to the single pc list in a couple of weeks when the main rigs credit runs out. (at least for the while)

At least i think i know what caused the HDD to corrupt.

On a brighter note it still booted and ran for a few mins with no obvious problems whilst i was trying to figure out why it had turned off. All the cards at least seem to have survived and i think the cpu and ram have also survived so it could have been worse :( couldn't it ?????
