http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php

when installed click add project, you'll see seti , it'll take you to a box asking for email and password, after that it then opens a webpage asking for username , country and postcode, after this you need to add your team, just type Ocuk in the search box. the drop down box below that will let you select s country. Click search and Ocuk will be at the top of the list, click it, if you then read a few lines down it says " join this team" , click that.

Thanks, can only fold now and then but I suppose it all counts :p

Welcome to the madhouse meade16!

One minor point though: SETI - and other BOINC projects - is known as crunching. Folding is a completely different project separate to BOINC that only those that have defected to The Dark Side run ;) :p

Thats only 'cos of all the light the white hot glowing parts are kicking out makes it hard to say your on the 'dark side' :D:p;)

OK you do split you work load but that didn't leave me with anything to comment about :p

Yes but everyone knows we are only in it for the hot chicks right?

I see ;) I'll get started tomorrow with a 3770k and 6970 GPU, how fast would a GTX 690 get through the tasks?

I suspect a 690 would be the single fastest card on the market for SETI. With that and a 3770k I would guess somewhere around 90k a day? No doubt someone will correct me :D

To get the best performance make sure you install the lunatics app and change your settings to crunch more than 1 GPU unit at a time.

You need to edit a config file which will be here (or wherever you installed - the folder is hidden by default):

C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu\app_info.xml

Edit that file using Notepad. Any line that says <count>1</count> change the number to 0.5 or 0.33 (for 2 or 3 WUs per card).

If you haven't already installed the lunatics app then do that first. Get v0.40 from here:
