Hi all the GF git me a 250 Samsung 840 for my birthday, happy days.
I want to do a full reinstall of Windows 7 ie wipe everything and start afresh.
I currently have 500gb hdd and a 1000gb hdd.
Which I can use as storage.
My motherboard is a
Gigabyte p55a~ud5
What's the best way to install this and check for new firmware

Cheers for that.
Is it better for me to disconnect the hdd's when setting up the ssd?
Also do I connect it to my GSata or Sata 2 my motherboard
Doesn't have sata3
And what's the best way to erase all data in the 2 hdd's

I usually disconnect any unnecessary drives when installing an OS, it's not strictly required, but saves anything unintended hapening.

If you dont want any of the data on the other drives it doesn't really gain you much, but i'd still be tempted to unplug them, do the install and connect/format them at a later stage.

Use ssdlife or look in Intel storage program,it will show you what fw version, you can update it from within windows
