sexting

I'm aware of it, but cant see how this particular law could be effectively policed.

Millions of mobile phones with cameras and video facilities are already out there, the law is designed to prevent people 16-18 getting into porn, which traditionally seems to have worked pretty well. However, now anyone can make and 'distribute' their own porn flick in minutes.

As an aside, what should have happened regarding that 16 y/o girl who got a good seeing to from half of Sunderland football club a while back? Giving her it was clearly legal, but the filming of it on the mobile wasnt :p
(Cant find the Sun link at the moment, parents were apparently "unhappy" lol)

Good god. Is that how familiar friends are in your youth these days? My mates and me wouldn't even get changed in front of each other when we were on holiday and here's you showing your balls off to a female friend! :eek:

I took a photo of my girlfriend when she was 17 and sent it to my mate. He sent me one of his.

Looking closer at the stats 25% of 11-18 year olds have received at least one "sext". I imagine that the numbers are skewed towards the higher end of that age range and receiving is a passive affair suggesting that the actual numbers actively involved are probably minute.
Tbh this is probably bad stats being used to justify the existence and funding of a quango.

No seriously - thankfully I don't use bluetooth any more but I've been sent only once or twice awesome pics and worryingly quite a lot of weird bondage videos when out in busy pubs/clubs. :(

if 2 15 year olds want to send pics of their bums to each other what the hell does it matter?

Ive read this and i still cant fathom this worrying problem.

What are they scared of paedophiles haxoring their phones??

Any bullying is a potential cause of suicide, and sexting is just another avenue to severe bullying. Young teenagers are much more sensitive to this, and often don't say anything, or nothing is done about it.

Were you ever bullied? I was. No matter who I told it carried on. I was ridiculed daily and threatened often. There were a few assaults including being shot in the face by a BB gun.

I spent most of my school life afraid. I know I wasn't the only one either. And yes, I contemplated taking my life to end it. At the time it seemed like I had very few options! I'm older now and see how that was not a solution, but I try to imagine how much worse it might have been if pictures of me nude had been spread around the school...

I don't know how old you are, or how your school life was, maybe you never had to feel this - which is great. But bullying ruins lives.
