SG03 Owners, Get you pics up here please

You still running the same specs Kermit? I ask as you said Athlon above but then you mention Q6600 in your sig. :D

Good idea - I can't quite decide between SG01 & SG03

Or if I should bother with a Q6600. Thinking not as I hardly use my PC for gaming :(

I'm back.., anyway had the SG)3 packed up for motnhs now, considering doing a small build with it, either steal the watercooling idea from jokester and go intel, or use NT06 and go 45NM AMD, might make a vidoe capture machine, or since oyu can run mac os on pc hardware might buildmyslef a mac....:D

Have Case, Optical Drive, GPU, Sound, Hard Drive, NT06

Need Mobo, Cpu and RAM...

£55 for Cpu, maybe £60 for Board and well with RAM want to spend around £160 max, will see what's available also need PSU, maybe 400W Enermax with Modded fan, have Nexus 1000RPM lying about...:D

so £200 I need then...

HI GUYS can I play:D

I got my SG03 just under a month ago, I got it because I was fed up with how slow my macmini had become so I decided to build a hackintosh inside a pretty case using compatible components.

This isnt my first Silverstone, I use to have a TJ04, so I knew their stuff was quality.

mysystem is:

Gigabyte DS2R mobo
Q6600 with NT06 Lite
Gigabyte Odin GT 550 (should have got the none GT version as the Software doesnt work in mac os X) The 14cm fan is very quiet and idles the cpu around 32.
4GB Ocz Reaper
Xpert vision 8800GT sonic 650mhz/1900mhz with an accelero x1 (I have the turbo drive module, but need to get a fan splitter) idles at 49.
500GB and 1TB in the drive bays (I plan to add another hard drive by screwing it to a modded backplate behind the dvd writer.)
I find using the 3.25 drive plate is too tight, I have tried it but the hardrive presses against the GPU cooler.

2x Silverstone Suscool fans (had to get these imported), they are very quiet and look purdy, they also react to temps between 31 and 60, I have one temp sensor to the CPU and the other to the GPU.

I cant believe how quiet this thing is.

Hi Guys,
You might remember my thread about problems using 4 dimms in my Shuttle sd37p2, well i went with the advice about getting 2x2gb dimms instead - and everything was great for a couple of days. Unfortunately either the PSU or Motherboard has given up the ghost, so I've decided to bite the bullet and upgrade, and i've got an SG03 in mind.

Can you use the optional Silverstone crossflow fan in conjunction with a NT06?
What sort of overclock and temps is it reasonable to expect from a Q6600 G0 SLACR, and an NT06? I've got 800Mhz ram and plan to use a Gigabyte Odin above the cooler.
I read that the hard drive cages can be a bit noisy - I've got a pair of raptors, is it possible to reduce the noise at all in an SG03? Can you fit rubber washers or something similar?

Will post mine up soon, loving the case so far :D
Thanks to whoever suggested using two Sharkoon fans in the front, they look outstanding.
I could post up size comparison pics vs my (dead) Shuttle SD37P2 if anyone is interested.

Rear view came out a bit darker than i'd like.

I'm very pleased with the whole setup, the Gigabyte Odin works as a very configurable fan controller, doing both the CPU/PSU and system fans based on temperature diodes you plug into it.
I was interested to see that with a quad core and 8800gtx, 2x Raid0 raptors I still haven't peaked at more than 290Watts used.

One thing to bear in mind, is that at least in my system, cables from the PSU are a real mess, and i don't really have anywhere to hide them away. I believe Silverstone do their own PSU, with shorter cables, specifically for the SUGOS.

You also can't fit in the Silverstone radial cooler alongside a ST06, to save anyone else making the same mistake I did.

CPU Temps are around the low 30's idle (Intels TAT diddn't seem to work (Vista 64?) so I diddn't test load temps), And my GTX is around 60 under load. I think i'll need to reseat and reapply Arctic Silver on the processor at some point as cores 2+3 are consistently a few degrees hotter than 0+1.

The whole system is very quiet. Until the damn Raptors kick in :/ , Bring on affordable SSD's I say!

I'm probably going to get one of these once my current Shuttle needs replacing. But I still don't like the side PSU grill sticking out.

Anyone fitted a Coolermaster optical cover? Or what-ever the present day equivalent is?

Maybe Pioneer will release some more of their XL optical drives, with the metal style finish front.

It's *just* big enough to take an 8800GTX, which is pretty long.
You have to take the fan guard off to get it in.

Zarf did u bother to put your 3.5 support bracket back or did u leave it off?

I found due to the fact Im also using an Odin, which is bigger then most PSU's due to its 14cm fan, and the fact I use the "trench" infront of the Hardrives as a place to tidy cables its almost impossible to get back in

Support bracket is in, first time i put the PC together it was a pain, but after i put my X-Fi in a few days later I must have got the alignment and cables just right as it went straight in.

Since I removed the stock Silverstone Fan and replaced it with 2 suscools my macbook is actually louder most of the time however the stock Fan was a brute and could really push some air, my temps have risen from 37 idle to 49 idle, still comfortable yes?
