shadow and bone fantasy series [Netflix]

The thumbnail scene in the YouTube video above looked awesome on my OLED TV in Dolby Vision.

I’ve seen 2 episodes and am enjoying it. I’ll watch the rest this weekend.

IIRC the books are pretty good, I need to go back and reread them, I read 1 and 2 but missed 3 when it was released.

Enjoyed Ep1 so far. OH has read most of the books set in this world and is unsure for now - but we'll continue on :)

I’m on about episode 5 or 6 I believe and it’s brilliant!
I was expecting it to be a little cheap and tacky but actually really well done

Went into this not knowing anything about it, took a while to get going but enjoyable throughout, looking forward to s2.

Main villain loves getting his face cut up, happened to him in Punisher too

I enjoyed that. Couple of things....

When I saw Ben Barnes was in it, and playing a good guy at the start, I thought there’s the antagonist. Just like Billy Russo in The Punisher. I didn’t like Kaz and Jesper but I did like Inej so 1 out of 3 was better than none.

I think it's a great adaptation. Been a while since I read the books, so running through the story chronologically confused the hell out of me at first (the bit with the gangsters, in particular).

Looking forward to watching the rest over the next couple of nights.

Thoroughly enjoyed this show, will definitely be watching season 2. My favourite character has to be Jesper, his performance was great. Ben Barnes was also great, he manages to play an unstable character very well similar to his performance in The Punisher TV series.

Finished the season last night. Absolutely brilliant, and manages to be better than the source material, which is rare for book adaptations.

I would have liked an extra episode mid-season, at the Little Palace, showing off more about the Grisha and Ravkan politics. But aside from that, I've got no grumbles. The castings were spot-on, the addition of the Crows to Alina's storyline was a great idea, and changes to some characters (Mal, in particular) were for the better.

Having never heard of the show i thought this was going to be another generic fantasy romance so didnt have much expectation on it. The show did a really good job fleshing out the characters and setting up background and the plot. It didnt dwell too much in the past and had a good pacing which kept the audiences attention. The cast did a great job.
when i saw Ben Barnes I suspected he wasnt entirely what he appeared to be

The show was surprisingly good. Cant wait until Season 2.

I've watched the first two episodes, interesting enough that I will go back and finish it off, just not finding the time to really pay attention to TV at moment though.

Never heard of this so of course not read the source material to compare against but did thoroughly enjoy it. Has season 2 been green lit yet?

Anyone watching 'the Nevers' (HBO show)?
