Anyone owned 4K HDR HDTV had tried out Shadow Warrior 2 with HDR to see stunning quality different?

Nvidia aggressive MRS huge 30% performance jump is very impressive for 4K at 60+ fps on GTX 1080, SLi worked great too. GTX 1080 SLi with aggressive MRS would run on 8K at about 60fps.

Here is gamegpu 4K peformance

Combined both MRS and Async Compute would be Nvidia killer features for DirectX 12.

sli doesnt work with this game, im running sli 1080s and get constant crashing, as soon as sli is disabled it works perfect.

Im not the only one with sli crashing, many ppl on steam reporting the same issue.

Not sure if its specific builds but sli is getting to be abit of a pain.

Well gamegpu used latest 373.06 driver and got SLi worked so you probably missed something developer Kris posted troubleshooting page said it will only worked in exclusive full screen mode, not in full screen window mode. Maybe same thing with HDR?

SLI/Crossfire, Freesync/GSYNC or HDR Display doesn't work
Enable exclusive full screen (Options -> Video -> Display Mode -> set to "Full Screen", not to "Full Screen Window")

Found someone played Shadow Warrior 2 on GTX 1070 SLi at 4K with 200% resolution scale and aggressive Multi Res Shading, the 200% resolution scale emulated 8K resolution had massive performance hit but it ran at playable 30 fps. When it changed back to 100% resolution scale to let it run at 4K saw huge performance jump to over 60 fps and over 100 fps in some places. Better wait for properly 8K HDTV and run with 100% resolution scale should have 60+ fps.

To me it looks like Nvidia are hinting they want to do away with it rather than deal with all the work needed for support.

The 1060 does not support sli at all while the 1070 & 1080 do not have support more than 2 way.
To me that suggests they're not interested in spending the money needed to fully support it when so few people go mgpu.

I'm sorry what are you smoking? At 4K two 1080gtx in sli does 58 fps. 8k is what, 4 times the pixels? It will never run at 60fps

Yeah, think OP made a mistake thinking 8K = 2x4K. But it's 2x in both directions of pixels, making 4x total.

So assuming there's a very mild CPU bottleneck going on for the 1080 SLI, and it should be ~95 FPS, then you'd expect ~31 FPS at 8K with the aggressive multi-res shading. ~24 FPS without.

This does indicate the 7nm generation of cards will be genuine 4K60 cards, above around 300-350mm^2 die.

I gave this a couple of hours last night. SLI working perfectly, and constant 100fps @ 3440*1440 Utrawide.

Yeah but look at the minimums. Minimum is about two thirds of average fps so even on a 8k screen with aggressive MRS you will have about 20fps min and 16 fps without.

Neither is playable with two 1080s now.

So again we are looking at maybe the cards to come in 2020 onwards before we get playable framerates with 8k games.

Its a good trick though to save power but surely only suitable to use it on certain types of games????????

Multi-res shading has been used in a few VR applications before this.

First time seeing it used in a 2d application, though. It's a neat trick but I wouldn't want to use it in 2d as most people wont have big enough displays for the outer boundaries lower resolution to not be very noticeable.

Suspect its more aimed at running on a big 65" 4k tv than a monitor.

I have a 32" 4k screen asnd even sat close to it, I notice the reduction in quality on the edges.

It's a little backwards for me. Surely you go to 4k resolution to enhance the visuals and not to water the edges down. I suppose it's an option for those that don't mind and choice is never a bad thing.

Suppose if it means a 30% framerate improvement and its either that or turn down your settings at 4k then its another option.

tried that yesterday and multi res shading does a great job on my X34 monitor as long as im using conservative mode.
its not visible in normal gameplay and helps framerate to stay aronund 90fps when using ultra setting on overclocked 980ti...

I could have edited my posts, but it won't change the level of moron I've displayed here... I was looking for multi res shading options, and confused it with HDR!

and why do you expect it not to be.?
only some TV's currently support HDR and your GPU doesnt support HDR either.

I see he have GTX 980 Ti SLi.

Yes GTX 980 Ti do supported HDR, Nvidia showed off Boy and his kite Unreal Engine 4 tech demo with HDR feature enabled on GTX 980 Ti on a 4K HDR HDTV prototype back in 2015.

Both Maxwell and Pascal GPUs supported HDR.

Very odd game this one........running plenty fps on Ultra, but really doesn't appear to be the smoothest out there. Almost like G-Sync isn't working (no display indicator when enbaled etc) ?
