Shark Attack - your thoughts?

Because we don't need to hunt, this isn't 500 pre B.C any more. There are farms and designated fishing companies to attend to our needs. Anyone who goes into the jungle with a shotgun or into the ocean with a spear is doing it out of sport, not because he needs to hunt for food.
.

How does that remove it from our natural territory.

Making assumptions make you look silly.
And lol at diver trying to kill the shark. Really...

Leave it if you want, but how can you not agree. It's like saying a river or a side of a mountain isn't part of our territory as its not habitable.

Why would you not include our hunting grounds as our territory.

Comparing a river and mountain to the open sea.. Really? People have lived in those areas 'since the dawn of time'. The sea however that isn't the case.

You can claim it as your territory and in fact, we have claimed it, but it doesn't make it right to destroy it for your own sport, does it?

Since when have people lived in rivers? Or on a cliff or other traditional uninhabitable place.
Just because we don't live somewhere, doesn't mean it isn't part of our territory.
or do you disagree that the sea has been one of our hunting grounds since we existed.

Because they only eat the fin? Or because of shark population.

If its the former, most people in England only eat "prime" cuts of meat.

Shark populations are being destroyed in Asia and they have started to go to South America for their sharks, its simply uncalled for and its incredibly stupid when you think about it economically (long term).

I wont even go into the food chain argument, since everyone should be familiar by now.

On about our treatment of our fish/herd animals and so on, is a fair argument and i certainly don't ignore it, especially since the end product is somewhat degraded to what it would be if the animals were better treated.

Either way, although its not extremely relevant to this thread, its still a point to make.

The idea that we must look after our own before looking after our environment (yes animals are an environmental factor, since they help with pollen movement and keep the animals they ate/whatever stable among other reasons) is frankly a completely contradictory idea.

You're talking about hunting. Why do we need to hunt sharks and tigers? Are you going to eat them ?

I didn't say anything about hunting sharks. The sea is our hunting ground, always has been. For hundreds if not thousands of different species and yes people do eat shark, you can even buy it in some takeaways or at least could.
People in some part of the world still need to hunt and still need to hunt for more than just food.

People who are unfortunate enough to still live in such primitive ways aren't the cause of the problem, did you know that a fish as abundant as blue fin tuna is being fished to extinction in our own waters in Europe to satisfy the needs of the Japanese? Tell me why a country as advanced as Japan simply can not create fish farms? Or if the Chinese really must need shark fins to make soup, why don't they create shark farms? Because most humans are greedy and it's just easier to take from our "natural" resources regardless of the fact we're destroying them.

How can you say to yourself that it's fair to kill an animal because he attacked one of "us", what the heck was the guy doing in the middle of the ocean in shark infested waters? If you went to the London Zoo and jumped in a tiger cage, then if they bite you, who's fault is that, the tiger or the retard who went in their cage? Should the tiger die for your mistake?

You argue about natural territory but I certainly wouldn't want to walk around in some parts of London at night by myself and I'm not silly enough to do it. Also, the difference between human hunters and animal hunters, humans CHOOSE to hunt, animals don't, everything we do we plan it and we can think, animals don't think therefore they shouldn't be held accountable for their actions in such a way, specially when nothing would have happened if you weren't there in the first place, it might be our territory but in the end of the day, it's their "home".

People don't live in rivers, we live alongside rivers. Hence i wouldn't class a river as our territory, more that it runs through our territory. Cliffs? You just changed from mountains so i'm going to keep with that, what about the Sherpa people? They live in the mountains no problem.

As for that it's again where we disgaree. I see territory as an area we have a need to defend from others. We have no need to be defensive over the sea as if people didn't go swimming they wouldn't be attacked. Stay on a boat and do your hunting and you'll have no reason to start hunting the animals that live there.

You keep reading what isn't there, please stop jumping to stupid conclusions and actually read what is there.

well uninhabitable mountains. Is not a normal mountain is it.
So anything where we can't live isn't part of our territory. Again how odd. A territory is anywhere you have business and generally defend against others.
Hunting grounds very much fall within territory.

Everyone saying the ocean is shark's territory, did you know where you live used to be chock full of BEARS, WOLVES, LYNX and WILD BOARS? You're living on stolen territory, bunch of hypocrites. I'd love to see some of you lot get mauled by a wolf on your way down to the corner shop for a bag of crisps.
