SyFy has ordered a Sharknado sequel; this time flying sharks attack Manhattan. It will premiere on the network in 2014. The network is holding a Twitter contest to name the movie. Tweet your submissions to @SyfyMovies using #Sharknado.
“Every once in a while, there is a perfect storm – on television. The fans are clamoring for a sequel. Or perhaps it will be a prequel,” the NBCU-owned network’s evp programming Thomas Vitale gushed in today’s announcement.

Seems Syfy have pulled it forward, it's getting its UK 'premier' on the 7th of August.

Watched this last night. Wish I hadn't, normally the syfy terrible movies are in the "so bad its good" category, but this was just so bad its offensive. I particularly enjoyed the stellar job they did with continuity throughout the film.

I remember this went full on #trending on ******* last month! Wil Wheaton and his wife Anne wouldn't stop banging on about it!!

And because of this it's secured a sequel :confused:

If it wasn't a sequel to this, it'd be a sequel to another of their movies or some other completely unoriginal idea. It's what they do.
