Shaveing rash :-/

That's a common misconception, but understandable.

The active enzyme, particularly in English mustard, can often excacerbate rash-like symptoms when attempting depilation.

Horseradish contains an amino acid with natural anti-inflamatory properties, and has a mild, yet eventually permanent, depilatory effect.

You actually thought i was being serious...?

dont shave every day.. give your skin time to recover.

before you shave, make sure you wash your face with warm water... tehis softens stubble

if youre using a gel try foam and vice versa.

Apparently you should wait at least 30 minutes after getting up in the morning before shaving, as during the night the stubble retracts slightly into the skin and is flattened against your face. It takes about 30 minutes to sort itself out after you get up.

Personally I would recommend shaving straight after a shower so the skin is still soft, and make sure your face is very wet using the hottest water you can stand. I use one of those shaving bowls with shaving soap rather than foam or gel - not only does it do a really good job but it lasts for ages - my current bowl I reckon will run out tomorrow, and I've had it since October! - not bad for about £3!!
Massage the foam/gel/whatever you use into stubble using a proper shaving brush. Not one of the cheapy ones, but an expensive real badger hair one. They're fantastic, and you'll never go back to a cheap one.
Use a sharp blade, short strokes, rinse it frequently and hold the blade against the skin but don't apply pressure to the skin.

I always shave against the grain, and shave every day, and never have a problem.

worst advice EVER

Err...works for me!

As said by Tru, it depends on the technique. As I don't apply pressure to the skin and use a decent brush to soften the stubble, my skin doesn't get damaged.

Obviously some people have more sensitive skin than others though.

Oh yeah, and I never recommended that for anyone, just said that's what I do! Like others I find if I shave with the grain it doesn't feel all that effective, so that's why I do it.

Also, there's no need to use shedloads of foam/gel or whatever (apparently from what I've heard, although I find it doesn't really make much difference to me) - only the bit that is in contact with the face actually does anything, the rest is just excess and clogs up the blades. Obviously it's a case of "not too much, not too little" though.

Just don't shave...The benefits of this are many:

1) you save time
2) you don't get shaving rash
3) you save money
4) you grow a beard, resulting in
5) you look more manly, leading to
6) you get the shoes, the car, the girl and the job.

Can anyone here swear by the mustard trick increasing facial hair? I mean has anyone tried it and proven it works?
