Sheffield Arena - Little Mix. Seating plan worry!

Sorry, but just don't go. The longer people support these scumbags the longer they'll stick around. If I had a pound for every time I've tried to get tickets for something, only to miss out and then see them in eBay 20mins later. It's hideous. Its outlawed for football, it should be for everything.

Yea its totally outrageous. Personally I'm sick of going to the market and finding Tesco buying up milk and having it on the shelf for more money the next day. The other week I saw a car on a forecourt being resold by the dealer for more than he paid for it! How can we stop this outrage?

Do you know anything about how the ripoff concert ticket market operates in the UK?

Your comparisons would be correct if Tesco was buying up ALL the milk and charging £10/pint. They don't actively stop other people from buying milk; there are other suppliers and other shops to buy from. Same goes for the cars. Tickets are different as it is a limited supply determined by the size of the venue.

In fact the milk comparison would be closer to correct if someone went round and bought ALL the milk from ALL the supermarkets and then sold it all on eBay for £10/pint. Would you be happy with that? Is that 'supply and demand' ?

Before you say 'deal with it', how come touting tickets for football matches is illegal? Presumably that's something to do with the sheer amount of money involved every week for those. TV rights, sponsorship etc.

With Fox you need to do a comparison with petrol and he might get it.
I'm sure if he suddenly had to buy his fuel from eBay for £10 a pint he might also be up in arms about it.
Of course he has the right not to buy and get a cycle instead.

Any ideas how this could be done?
If tickets are bought with a Card then the ticket could have the first four and last four numbers printed on it and you have to turn up with the Card.
Ticket prices would go up though.

I went to see David Gilmour at the Royal Albert Hall last year and the tickets had your name on them and you had to show ID at the door to prove it is you.

I wish more places were like this. Ticketmaster are the worst, they own another site called GetMeIn. I tried to get tickets to a gig once and they were immediately sold out on Ticketmaster but within minutes there were hundreds on GetMeIn, I have no doubt they hold them back and just list them on there themselves to make more money.

When I go to see lady Gaga I always get seated tickets. Much more relaxing
I'm always on at exact time the tickets go on sale
Hammer that refresh key and still is hard to get good seats.

Just way it is

I'm a steward at Sheffield Arena...

When the floor is set out in blocks, as shown, it is almost definitely going to be seated. On standing floor events, there is usually no blocking and simply a large 'standing' floor block covering the whole diagram.

B13 should give you a decent view of everything, I would imagine.

I would imagine that the 'B stage' would be used for certain parts of the concert, however with a main stage being shown on the diagram the majority of the concert should be there.

If you have any concerns about seating, you can go to information on the concourse roughly behind where block 109 is. Sometimes if there's a big issue where you are sat, we can re-locate you if there's a spot.

Usually with seated floors, we as stewards are required to 'make' people sit down by practice, however on the night everyone might tend to just stand up with the kind of concert it is, which as you can imagine it's hard to make an entire floor sit down.

Like I said, I would imagine it's a seated floor with the way that it's shown out, however, we've not got any information on the concert yet. Feel free to PM me if you've got some queries, as I am most likely to be working there that night.

And last, the tickets don't usually have pictures printed on them. Usually we just scan the tickets and our scanners will blink green if you've got a valid ticket.

Do you get standing tickets for other artists?

Yes, but her shows are so intense and there aren't any bad songs. In standing the heat of the crushing at the front is too much for me. So I prefer seated.
Gagas shows are too amazing to miss any. So I can get a drink without losing my seat

I actually passed out at a Muse concert from heat once

It's actually Sheffield I always go to see her at

Thanks for that - daughters first concert and we want it to be a good experience for her and you have put our minds at rest.

Feel free to say hi and to send a wine/beer and coke to the wife and daughter - you know where they will be sat!! ;)

I'm sure I saw a documentary where this was proved, and same goes for the other sites. They simply employ people to buy up the tickets and because they bulk buy so many they are even treated preferentially by the original sellers. Making it even harder for your average Joe to get a look in. It really is a screwed up system.
