Anyone a shootemups fan?

I'm talking games like this


Is there a resource for games like this, perhaps some free shootemup games?

Name some shootemups you enjoyed, and would reccomend to others.

Jamestown for sure :)

This video looks like quite an old version of it. It has 4 player coop and the difficulty ramps up to insane levels. I'm currently playing through it on Judgement (2nd video).

I am more a fan of vertical shmups, are there any good recent examples?
 
It's not vertical, but looked polished back in the day. Don't know if sequel made it to PC.

Hmm interesting never new there wore peeps still making these games.

To the OP try get hold of an arcade board and try do don pachi, gradious 3 or vulcan venture:)

Iv nearly persuaded my self into the gog version 4 or 5 times :p (neil79 with the best link of all time)

I'm almost tempted this time as the iPhone edition is fun but really difficult with a touch screen (redone audio is nice though)
