Shooting Star

powers of superman

and i remember in the summer a few years ago during a meteor shower, it happened to coincide with the clearest night i've ever seen - bare in mind that there is NO light pollution here at all, a clear sky looks incredible - however, this night was just unbelievable... there were more stars than black in the sky, and a shooting star every couple of seconds. Will always remember that night. Because of the shooting stars, also got frisky with the missus-to-be on a tennis court watching them.

dreams didn't come true though.
still no powers of superman

Remember I was driving home once and a shooting star passed relatively low overhead, can recall sinking lower into the seat even though it was probably well high in the sky.

Ive seen more than that in an hour . . . . :p. Mind you, I do astronomy . . . . Amazing how many you see when you arent lookat for them, but are looking up.

i used to do astronomy, first time i saw one was when something massive was burning up, probably 2001, broke up into many pieces, cant remember date (not even year). I think it was a satellite that had lost orbit but its "light show" was cool.

then i saw loads 2007 when it was one of the meteorite shower weeks, cant remember when, August? saw tons then, but had to drive 50miles to get rid of London's radioactive glow..... :o

Yeah, know how you feel. Newcastle/Sunderland is horrendous for Light Pollution. 40 Miles+ to find somewhere nice and dark for me.
