@SHEDDER1uk well done! Here I shot about 650 shells over two days at the Mid Wales shooting center; mostly on the skeet to try to get automatisms dialed in. Did pretty well, hope that shows into the score next Wednesday!

@Born_2_Kill_83 -- £130 parts included (!!!!) via an instructor friend in Wales. I know it's really a lovely job, I have to say I was a bit worried, but quite frankly it's superlative work. So I gave him the AYA I bought a few weeks back to get one too; and a new recoil pad.

Skeet is my discipline of choice. Just going through the England skeet selection process.

Cool! Well I had a couple of runs at E.J Churchill on wednesday and I've done a 21! First time ever. I know, sounds ridiculous but I think my very first run 3 week ago was... 14 :-)

I'm pretty sure I could do 23, and perhaps the odd 25 in a little while, but I'm certain that to do 195/200 must involved YEARS of practice, not weeks!

Anyway, it's fun, and it seems to help a lot with sporting too, as I feel I shoot 'quicker' without thinking too much about the bird...

Another nice run at the Churchill's sporting afternoon. 42/50. Seems I'm now 'steady' just over 80/100, whatever the course... More training needed tho, I KNOW I sometime lose concentration, and sometime miss silly birds, so I know theres like 5+ up for grab, toward 90/100...

BTW I think the skeet training is awesome, and not just for skeet -- seems it helps a lot with sporting as well...

Ooooooh - is that a skeet score ?- can't quite understand it - different to skeet cards I have seen

I bet you cussed that last pair on stand five.

Was that last high/low pair ?

A correction for people - Twin barrel shotguns with barrel above other are called Over/unders - Not up and overs.

Ah no it's a small sporting 50; 5 stands... £17 -- not 'cheap' but it's 10 minutes from my office :-)

And yeah was doing very well on the last stand, but the trap acted up and I lost concentration. It was a far/fast looper and a fast crosser.
Anyway, room for improvement is good ;-)

That just shows you that the shot spread isn't much at that distance so you have to be spot on - good dust ball kill that. :)

What ground was that at. ??

Edit - just read your post again and that had to be Benelli shoot- I shot that on first year they held it there - shot rubbish and it was a long way to go.

I'll get a few more uploaded - I must admit I preferred it when it was at hodnet but it was really a warm up shoot for the world comp next weekend and then the beretta the weekend after.

Score card from the comp - lightly average score but not bad based on it was the first time I had picked up the gun for about 8 months

Not a bad score that --

My best was a few years ago at West London -Went on last stand for 102 - hit first 6 rabbit's then no bird -no bird- no bird - 20 min later trap was fixed - looked at rabbits again then missed all three for 99 - As I shot in morning I thought 99 was out of it - guy in afternoon hit 99 and as I wasn't there he took 3rd in Vets -- Grrr. - could have lost shoot off though.

Might go to Shugborough tomorrow. if it's fine - Only shoot on fine warm sunny days now.

Did some shooting this week-end too, about 700 cartridges over 2 days (!).. A bit of sporting, and a lot of skeet training. I did 24, then 24 and then 25 at skeet, by myself -- obviously that doesn't count, but clearly it's creeping up!

I told myself that once I hit a 25 at churchill or AC Sports on an 'official' range, I'll buy myself a new gun as a treat :-)

I mean, if I hit 25/25 with my trap gun on full+extra full, anything wider should start to make a hell of a difference? ;-)

BTW, whats the general opinion on Guerinis? I hear on one side that they are excellent value for money, and another side says that there are a lot of them on the second hand market, because they are in fact not fantastic...
