Shotguns: Show us your clay / game / zombie bashers

So what people have been shooting lately? I'm still on mu quest of a 25/25 skeet; I did a *24* this afternoon tho, so I'll get there!

I also bought a small bullet camera to put on the shotgun. It's not a 'shotkam' quality, but it tells you what the gun was doing overall, even if you don't see the trail in detail all the time. I already found it quite useful!

I was given two side-by side yesterday. Massively happy with that; there's once small boxlock that was custom made for my wife's grandfather, and it fits her somehow (he was a small man). Also there's one for me, apparently a pre 1910 sidelock from a known maker. Both are lovely and need a clean!

If i wanted to get into shooting as i have an indoor range a few miles away, how would i go about it? not interested in hunting or outdoor skeets just an indoor range every now and again.

Thanks

Check the air rifle thread -- pretty easy to get into; altho the crowd at shooting club can be a bit on the bizarre side. Well the ones I've been at anyway.
I found the shotgun crowd /massively/ better, pretty much everyone I've met while shooting had been nice, open, chatty and friendly.

What sort of guns do you intend to shoot, in this country your mostly looking at air guns indoor, which seems a bit pointless paying to be part of a club when you can just do it outside unless you intend to go somewhere with the sport.

Some more pics of the boxlock. It's amazing! Full choke, Thomas Wild origin, made in 1928 -- brand new. We shot it last week-end with 21 and 24g cartridge, and broke clays! It's not my size, but it fits my wife perfectly, so she's been making little dust clouds with it :-)
The sidelock I sent to be cleaned, it was a bit too gunky and I wanted to make sure the action is cleaned up before I shoot it. can't wait!

.... And got my new gun too... I finally DID 25 on skeet using my B25, and this is my prize to myself!

Ceasar Guerini Invictus V, one of the first in this country. 30", flush chokes, sporting version. Very impressed with the quality, and I shot one last week-end and it fits me like a glove. Excellent palm swell for my biggish hand!
Going to shoot it friday, can't wait :-)

Well done! Was it sporting?

Here I used skeet as a benchmark, I don't think I'm a skeet shooter, but the challenge was pretty cool (B25 is a trap gun with full+extra full fixed chokes) and I learned a lot. So I think I'll continue using skeet as a training ground really...

Well shot Macca - What was your score and what ground was it held at.:):)

So shot about 800 thru the new Guerini gun over the week-end. I'm very impressed, excellent gun, comes up beautifully, very stable without being heavy.
Had a great time, did skeet, sporting, and I even did a session shooting DTL gun down; now, THAT'S the non-boring way to shoot DTL :-)

So the new gun is more or less dialed in -- not 100% but I thinkt hat won't take long -- on myse targets I feel I shoot it better than with my old trusted B25.

It's just 400 a day guys, not that much! I shoot 27g superfast at sporting/DTL and 24g HV at skeet. And no, no bruising shoulder or anything :-)

400 a day is like 200, lunch, then 250 or so, with a cup of coffee in between etc. So over about 4 hours it's not a hell of a lot...
