How would you propose people were given change from a 99p item?
I know, loads of people pay by card these days, but also loads don't.

Eurozone countries have one cent coins, why did they need to round up?In europe they just rounded up initially, now items are generally priced according to this.
You'd like to see prices rounded up to the next 10p or 20p?I'd rather pay £1 than have 1p knocking round my jean/wallet forever.

It did at one time serve the purpose of forcing shop assistants to register the cash and give change rather than pocketing the money.I'd quite like to see an end to 99p pricing as it is just such a pathetic way of trying to make something look cheaper same way 'd ban the .9p on the end of petrol prices!
Yeah, I always understood this was the main reason why items were priced at £x.99It did at one time serve the purpose of forcing shop assistants to register the cash and give change rather than pocketing the money.
You're off by about 3,500 miles . It was Nigeria for anyone who is curious.India? Half joke... but apparently cornershops make a lot of money from people saying "keep the change" to them.
Obviously it depends how busy said shop is, but I have a very busy one down my road [I nearly always have to queue] and they told me they make quite a bit that way.
