Should 1p and 2p coins be scrapped?

I'd be glad to see all coins and cash gone anyway as well. Stopped using cash for 99.99% of my purchases a good 10yrs ago, and when Apple Pay in the UK came out in 2015 that was the final nail in the coffin for cash for me. My wallet never leaves the house unless it's absolutely necessary.

I'd get rid of coppers, when I was growing up they were actually useful but they are pretty much worthless these days, just a waste of space and on the rare occasions you need them you can never find them anyway.

Oh and 1p/2p coins can go as well.

We don’t have 1c or 2c coins down under, they got rid of them a while ago. Prices for items are still ‘normal’ .. ie something can cost 67c or $1.19 (Petrol was $1.54/litre yesterday when I filled up - 88p!).

The rounding is done at the till if you select to pay by cash and it rounds the final amount, not the price of each item. If you choose to pay on card you get billed the non rounded amount.

Works well and no pile of junk coins around.
