Should/Can I Overclock?

Do I need to disable any power saving features on the BIOS for the CPU to stay at minimum of the cache speed rather than dropping down to 800MHz, or leave them enabled?

No problem, I am running P95 on 1.180v at the moment, I will give it 20mins and if no freeze or ridiculous tempertures then I will reduce it by 0.005 again until it freezes, find the lowest possible I can use, and then change the Encore Multiplier and Encore Volts and re-test.

Dont understand why these settings where crashing yesterday but now they seem to work fine, that same test crashed after 10 mins last night, but today got 2 hours.

It can happen that's why it takes so long. You may find 1.180 crashes so then you try 1.185 again and that crashes its trial and error

I put encore to 42 and ring voltage to 1.100 but it froze on desktop. I tried 1.110 then 1.120 and same result. Do i need to lower ring voltage or lower encore.

I tried same settings but default auto on ring voltage and the second i tried to start prime it froze.

Moved encore to 38 and its running prime but 2 workers stopped.

Tried yours and 2 worker stopped straight away

Can the ring voltage be higher than cpu volts? Or should i raise volts to 1.20 then tweak ring volt.

I see what u mean by trial and error.. i changed it to the settings I had during the 2 hour test and it crashed straight away.. this thing loves to take the **** lol.

If in doubt reset uefi to default then put 43 core @ 1.19 , uncore 36 @ auto , vrin @ 1.9 let it boot then power down. Power back up and try again

I put the settings back to when I passed 2 hour test. I reatarestarted computer twice after changing BIOS to be sure. Its running prime95 at the moment but what I did notice was local.txt didnt have the cpusupports text u got me to put in. It was as if it had restored the original file after a freeze.

Im assuming my LLC will be auto as I havent touched it but I will check.

My memory is DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz. I also have my memory set as Profile 1 which put it to 1600 in BIOS.

The Prime test was running so I will try tweaking some settings and restarting twice before re testing.

Right now I am testing:

4.3GHz @ 1.185v (Encore 4.0GHz, VRIN 1.9)

It seemed a little slower to boot into windows but once I was in I have P95, HWInfo64 Sensors and HwMonitor running at the moment, i'll give it 20 mins but the max temperature so far has been 86 degree.

40 encore was working but both 41 and 42 froze.

Im running 4.4GHz @ 1.225v encore 40 vrin 1.9.. will update post with result.

Updated.. max temp on 4.4 was 94 degree on prime.. will.test same volt on 4.5 and if fails will try 4.4 at 1.220 and below.

OK so your uncore is at 40 . What voltage for that?

If you can keep 44 below 95 then great. when you have what seems like a stable setting for 43 or 44 leave it to run overnight if possible to make sure
