Should I change or not?

Is this thread for real? Seriously? Spec me a new car?

I knew it was coming but not this quick! Awesome :D

Seriously? For a bright chap you miss the point a lot - either that or you do it on purpose to provoke a reaction.

For the 4th time - new job. I couldn't have known about it when I had the Mondeo, I couldn't have known about it when I bought the Saab, and I couldn't have known about it when I bought the Accord. This happened less than 2 weeks ago.

Keep the Accord for now, then review the situation after you've been working there a while.

Maybe consider a second car as a toy? Maybe an MX-5?

Aye as I said, I'm not jumping at anything, but it is nice to have something to work towards. I dont have space for a second car at home, so I cant really go down that route - but I do use my Dad's MG TF when I want something fun at the moment.

Honestly its like banging your head against a brick wall at times around here.

Perfectly logical reason for considering a change in the future, just after some opinions on whether its worth it and what might be worth considering. Got some good advice and some good suggestions. Then the usual lot come along to say HERPDERP I'M APATRONISING LOLOLOLOL

Just stick with what you have, for more than 6 months, seriously.

Given your life, in 3 weeks you'll be asking us if you should downsize to a moped in order to raise the capital to purchase a salon for grooming your friends dog anyway.

Entire situation summed up perfectly.

All them dog salons do is breed spoiled gay dogs.

Dogs should have a good short haircut like men.

Apart from the pointlessly sarcastic second paragraph, I probably wouldnt be looking to change for a few months anyway. As I've already said once, it's nice to either have something to work towards or just quash the idea altogether.

What do you feel you know about my life that gives you sufficient grounds to make such a claim?

Apart from the pointlessly sarcastic second paragraph.

That WAS the summary. Also, there were not two paragraphs, merely two sentences, one a paraphrased summary of your last 12 threads in motors.

What do you feel you know about my life that gives you sufficient grounds to make such a claim?

Given you post every intricate detail of what has happened in your life, here on OcUK for all to see, I guess I'm as qualified as yourself. Seeing how your life changes precisely every 13 and a half seconds, are YOU knowledgeable enough about your own life to make a decision about whether or not to buy a limo or a moped?

As I said further up the thread, before you decided to ask about my judgement; why not let the dust settle, and actually see if you can implement some stability in your life? Sounds like you need it.

Its OCUK, what do you expect?

I think you should wait a bit though. Then maybe consider something a bit fun, maybe as a second car?

We know you lead the most dynamic and complex life of any single bloke ever.

Out of interest have you been on any of those weekend breaks mitigate your female friend that you sold the Saab to help fund yet?

I post very little, only enough to try and keep threads on track while the nosey vultures are persistently ruining them. This is the only significant change in my life in the past 2 1/2 years - unless you'd like to point out another one for me?

My life is perfectly stable, I'm just moving on from a job I've been at for 3 years onwards and upwards. This may mean I want to change the car as my use will totally change - but I've already said several times that I would probably wait until my probationary period is over anyway.

Not really sure with whats wrong with mulling it over now though?

See, is it any wonder why I get chastised for posting too much information about my personal life? Who cares? Does it really matter, or make a difference to this thread or any thread previously?

Yes, Fox, we had a lovely weekend away on the moon.

  • The one where you bought an expensive Saab (by mistake)
  • The one where you sold an expensive Saab for a relative pittance in order to walk a (female) friends dog more often, and to be able to take her away on weekends away.
  • This one.

That's at least three in the last 6 months.

  • Choosing to spend some money isnt a change of life circumstances
  • I lost very little on the Saab
  • The dog criteria wasnt the reason for change, merely a desirable requirement in the replacement. I've made use of it several times already so the requirement will stay in cars in future
  • Selling a car that I realised I wasnt making good use of in order to pay off some debts and take some holidays isnt a change of life circumstances either.
  • And this one. Excellent.

Yes, Fox, we had a lovely weekend away on the moon.

It does matter as it demonstrates that you sell cars for superfluous and wishful reasons.

This makes giving credible advice much harder.

My advice is the same as always. Keep what you have!
