Should I change or not?

People are being too harsh in this thread. It's not as if he's randomly thought "meh this Accord is crap, I've made a mistake" as per "predictions", it's more along the lines of "This Accord is decent enough but I've been presented with a sudden job opportunity which allows me to better exploit the use of a more petrolhead-oriented motorised vehicular conveyance" :p

Spot on.

People seem to think I've made a raft of mistakes and have been changing cars every month. But how many cars have I actually wanted to get rid of quickly? One.

you can argue about the semantics all you want. this thread is about the prospect of you changing your car for the 3rd time in 5 months.

That and constantly changing your mind and ignoring others advice is where you're getting the criticism from. Why even bother starting this thread in the first place ? just do what you did when you bought the other 2 cars - what you wanted, rather than what overclockers said you should do.

this is just my point. He cant, so he might as well save the abuse and not start the thread inviting criticism and "LOLZ POSTING IN EPIC THREAD" comments.

The only mistake he has made is post too much information for people to then twist in any way against the OP and continually make the same boring jokes time and time again.

There's nothing wrong with thinking about what you want to buy in X amount of months, it gives you enough time refine what you need/want from a car whilst avoiding mistakes. Like I said, you can't win sometimes.

I'm about the only one who hasnt used the word mistake so far - you're all doing a lot of assuming.

I just think the whole thing is pantomime. We've had over 800 posts in threads about what car he should buy since february, and low and behold here and now in July, we're discussing what car he should buy, again !

I did not imply that you did. I'll reword it. The only mistake Iaind has made in his threads is post too much information for people to then twist in any way against the OP and continually make the same boring jokes time and time again.

Is that better?

So Iain, what's the list of prospects looking like so far? If we've 6mths to trim it down then it really needs to have at least 10 cars to work through.
Oh and rather than an estate (unless the dog is bloody huge) you can get a cover for the rear seat, attaches round the headrests front an rear, to solve that. Had one for years and had no worries letting my dogs use it to dump on all the mud and crap they'd bring back from a rainy walk in the forest ;)

At the moment, ST220, Saab 95 and some sort of yet unnamed BMW or Mercedes. Oh and a T5

I've seen those covers/guards but never been convinced really, mainly of the effectiveness of the center guard. The dog is a german shepherd, but the car is sometimes used for the family boxer, neither of which are small dogs

You're in a bad spot for a Merc too much to spend on a solid old 124 and i wouldnt want a 4k w210/211.

I dont think i'd want a 4k BMW either.

You will find a decent low owner looked after 9-5 for that though.
