Should I get a Monogram Colour ?

This is true, but the cost of the paint means that if some little scroat keys the whole car and it requires a whole repaint the insurers may write the car off as the paint is so expensive.

True but make sure that you have cover against vandalism and an agreed valuation and its a non issue.

That said they look vile in my opinion so I would avoid for that reason :p

Trophy blue is generally the best colour on mg's by a mile but i must say i think yellow looks good on them mg tf's when you see them in the erm.."flesh". In my opinion anyway...

Def not the flip paint thing on them, looks real odd. I had a celica once that was flip painted and i agree with what eidolon said about attention, i'd pop to the retail park etc and come out to find 12 youths around it taking pictures on mobiles  . It was at that point i realised i fail! ;)

I saw a MINI Cooper S convertible in the same kind of chromatic paint colours as shot silk - it looked ridiculous/horrendous/vile.

I've been into one of my distributors today and they had a 500ml tin of a Rover flip flop paint. For that half litre it was £1156. Shocking!

I think that's why it's called flip flop paint, one quote and you flip backwards and flop on the floor :p

Sagaris in flip = :D

MGF with or without flip = Fail

What car have you got Ad? Most threads recently I see you dissing cars here there and everywhere. Rarely/none of your critisms had any meat to them other than off the cuff remarks with childish overtones.

I personally think that with the right colour it looks absolutely fantastic. Though it does depend on the car though. On an MG? Probably not... however on something a bit more exotic or "pretty" it works REALLY well IMO.

To be fair, that's par for the course in here... ;)

OT, the Flip paints don't do it for me either....

X-Powa (sic) Grey looks good (My brother had one)
Trophy Blue looks good (Mate had a MGF Trophy in this)

I'm not a fan of most other colours tbh..

I was pleasantly surprised by the MGTF (and to some extent the MGF), they are still quite good to drive, the 160 Engine is very eager, and performance quite reasonable, after driving back to back with an MX-5, although the MX-5 feels far more alive, it isn't like you won't enjoy yourself in the MG's..

If you have to ask, don't buy it. You know if you like the colour or not. The fact that you've had to ask means you probably don't like it, but you're tempted to buy a car like this anyway because you're struggling to find one that meets your spec. Wait it out, don't get excited. There are loads of these about. Get the one you want, don't compromise because these ones happen to be for sale now. Like I said yesterday about Civic Type-Rs, we're not dealing with chrome Veyrons here. These are ten-a-penny, like most cars on the road.

but then again, I wonder..... ;)

Looks like a metallic bruise :p

I hear you mate, unfortunately MY05 TF's are rare, I think I read MG only made 600 of them and only a percentage of those will be 160's. I'd like a MY05 if at all poss as they have the glass window in the soft top plus some suspension revisions which make them ride a bit better by accounts..

I'm gonna go and have a look at it in the flesh anyways to see what I think..

Lol at metallic bruise ! :D

Still - wait for the exact car you want. You'll only be disappointed when you buy this horrible oil-spill paint job one and the exact car you want appears on Pistonheads next week.

there are only something like 800 Astra VXR nurburgring editions

they come and go all the time. If there isnt one for sale now, its just a question of waiting for one to come up that meets your requirements.
