Well basically what the title says. I remember when oblivion was first out i still had not the best of the pc's so i did play it. But now i was reading newspaper and there was oblivion add and small review on it and few screenshots. I played elder scrolls older parts and i quite liked it.

So what do you thing should i give it ago ?

yeah give it a go, for some reason people dont like it compared to morrowind, but i think its just as good. Really is a fantastic game, one of te best ive played. Still looks supberb aswell.

I thought it was a dire game, borrowed it of a friend (THANK GOD!), i knew it was going to bore me to death so i gave it my mate back and went to get The Witcher which i love!

I would get the Witcher as its a far better game in my opinion, but their are people who will say Oblivion is great. Was just too vast a world and got boring too quick for me (Bit like the most boring film in the world A.I)

Even though I agree with Sinny about The Witcher being a much better game, I still enjoyed Oblivion.

You should borrow it from a friend or something to have a go, that way you don't lose money if you hate it.

It is the best way, i was going to buy it because i thought it looked fantastic, nearly bought it but i remember my mate had 3 of them (have no idea why) so i lent it off him.

I managed to get out of the dungeon and started into the combat system, thats where it got boring. Their just was not enough to keep me enthralled. Combat system in the game is make or break for me. Next comes the story.

I think it's a great game. One i'm thinking of buying for my 360 sometime after xmas since it'll be cheap :D

But it's def. worth a try

great great game, but could have been so much better and much more entertaining, e.g. there was never any real fun tasks that made you feel like you were doing a quest, very hard to explain but like i would have loved to be able to join the imperical army for a few quests and not just do them a favour of collecting item, killing bandits etc, but be an imperial guard and have to say walk like one, stand in the correct places etc, change shift with such and such and then go to new place etc, then maybe help fight some bad guys, then back to work etc, if that makes sense. Tjhe game is also very lifeless in that although people move around they never live, i expected things like, having someone cleaning the streets, turning on and off the street lights, going to buy stuff from stores, have people have to go to a pub to eat, restock shop etc.

if you have played fable you might understand what i mean that game was full of life, felt like the town had things to do, you could stand there and watch, although it quickly became the same thing over and over as the game waws tiny the people did live.

one last thing which annoyed me about ob is the extremely slow fall rate, you would run down stairs and run straight into air as mavity doesn't pull you down realistically

Awesome Game, try it, only thing i will say it, give it about 3Hrs of play before you get into it, the starting Quests inside the undercroft of the Jails can get tedius, but once your outside its amazing.

why is witcher better? I have not played it but i have played oblivion a bit just to look around the game world and i fear it may be too time consuming and it has an underlying miserable atmosphere

Oblivion is amazing if you can find a style of play that suits you - and if you add a mod or two...especially the OOO mod. I played it mainly as a member of the Dark Brotherhood and it was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.

The Witcher is a bit amateurish and rough around the edges in comparison, although it is a good game also. As said tho, it crashes left, right and center

Morrowind was a game written for the PC, Oblivion was written for consoles and ported across to PC which IMO spoilt it.
When I first played it on a X1800XL it struggled and I was getting poor frame rates, now on a 3870 it plays really nicely with a bunch of mods applied.
So yes play it again and check out some mods.

indeed AI is the most boring film in the world.. EVER!
as for the game, im in the same boat, id like to try it but seeing the reviews on here it doesnt seem like the gameplay is fantastic.

also... TIM!

Your sig is amazing!!!

yes! defiantely. you have to see whether you like it or not. personally. i loved every minute of it. with all the settings turned on full, and some decent mods applied, it feels like you are walking through real sunny fields, and i love it when the sun goes down and it kinda makes you want your char to sleep til dawn. the combat could have been a bit better, i find being an orc with barbarian/monk skills is quite good as you can just use a club or hammer or simply punch the crap out of anything and kill it with one hit :p
