Just thought I'd post up my 2p with regards to Controllers.
Back in the Xbox 360 controller and DS3 times, There seemed to be a general consensus that the DS3 was sub par and the 360 controller was the king. Now I didn't really play First person shooters and so the stick positioning and apparent dead zones on the DS3 werent all that major to me. I found the DS3 pad to be superior for hack and slash type games, fighting games and my stealth based games! But could definitely see where the 360 pad was superior when it came to other types.
The newer pads I feel change the game up somewhat, DS4 is definitely better than the DS3, After playing Killzone religiously on the PS3 getting ready for Shadow fall, The cramps, deadzones and stick config become more apparently. Being able to shift instantly to the shadow fall sequel with DS4, The change is night and day, The wide grips on the pad alleviate any issues with cramping, Stick positioning not being optimal makes no difference as the wider grip seems to help relieve those issues. Dead Zones are none existent, and I noticed some mention of button lag in another thread this morning, I personally don't see it. (I believe the lag may be Injustice specific, if you've seen these comments in another thread)
Personally I would say that this gen, now the problematic areas are sorted, the DS4 is superior to the Xbox1 pad. But then again, I'm still not playing
that many FPS games, and the Playstation pad is just a better fit for the games I enjoy.
Yeah take what I said as my opinion rather than obscene testing. It's just my literal hands on experience.
