Show me the insides of your P180!

The fan on the 9500at blows backwards over the fins. The P180 case fan blows air out of the case. Theyre blowing in opposite directions at the moment, meaning the rear case fan isnt really doing much, and the air that gets heated up from the 9500 is being blown around the inside of the case.

Take a look at Jimbo's.

I have corrected mine now. Thanks for pointing that out. :)

Also while turning the fan round cleaned the blood off the heatsink :)

Those fins are nasty little buggers.

Temps havent really changed, but I guess the better airflow is negated by me messing up the thermal paste.

Yer we know that :)

He was pointing out that FosterK's Zalman 9500 AT appears to be the wrong way round for optimal airflow.

I had mine the same way and the air is definatly being blown into the case instead of towards the fans at the back. Fixed it now though.

Varone's fault for the confusion, telling us to look at yours as an example of the correct way to have the heatsink and fan orientated for the 9500 when yours is a different model :D

I`ll have to post a pic of mine when my camera has charged... it was ultra messy but I recently had to pull ou the PSU to try in another machine and when putting it back spent about 3 hours tidying and it came out much much better... even squezed another 120mm fan in :)

I kept the fan down the bottom to help keep my x2 SATAs cool in the lower drive compartment. My two PATAs are in the upper drive bay with a Red Akasa 120 mm fan in there. Most of the cables are tucked round the back to help air flow. I replaced the boring black 120mm with more Red Akasas (Still fairly quiet) and one of the black ones now sits in the top section drawing air in, you can see the packaging ties suspending it, it doesn`t actually touch the case so no vibration :)

Ok heres my p180

EDIT: Hrmm theres quite a collection of dust on my heatsink... need to clean it :)

Inside of my Conroe based system.

Will add another fan in the top HDD section and retidy a bit when I can be bothered. Rushed it slightly at the end, just wanted to get it running in the end (fan wires etc).

Can I ask if the bottom fan is blowing or sucking air on the bottom hard disk compartment?

I just put my fan back in there with my drives sucking air out and its keeping my 2 sata drives at 35c Just worried that the fan is now blowing hot air onto my Enermax Liberty 620w Although all seems well. :)

Also.. Chimponarope what sort of temps do you get, as your setup looks the same as mine.

Should be sucking from the drive side and blowing through the PSU

Yeah that's how mine is too.

Which temps and with which program would you like Jimbo? I think mine is actually running a touch warm to be honest, but I've got all fans on low at the moment.

I'm going to attempt cutting a 120mm fan hole in my side panel tommorow, will let you know how it goes ;)

(Got a spare side panel in case anything goes wrong)

Have you got Everest installed at all? or you could just get readings from the bios mate. Was wondering what temps you get cpu / motherboard/ vga / hard drives etc. :)
