Show me the insides of your P180!

EDIT:

Forget it bad idea, I just tryed my system temps are quite high today 45c and doing some testing with orthos it says my cpu is at 64c yet putting my fingers on the heatpipe right next to the cpu its warm at best.

I'm rebuilding my girlf's PC into a P180 tomorrow - I have felt bad about her PC for quite a while because I foisted a Coolermaster Ammo 533 upon her computer (I know, I know, they're horrible) so now I'm 'treating' her to a rebuild (we do other stuff as well as computers, honest).

So I'll post pictures when I'm done. It's gonna have a RAID 0 array for her muzik downloads and evrything, it'll be a big improvement.

RAID 0 for downloads??? Why?

RAID 0 is used to make file access and writing faster for say video/audio editing ect not downloading!

Ditto.

Surely raid 1 (mirror) would be better as it offer data security (if one drive fails you dont lose everything)...

Personally my striped (raid 0) Raptors are used for the OS and games.. Reduces boot time quite a bit and game load times a huge amount.

Hi, some of the files on this disk are going to be very large in size, hence the RAID 0 partition for better performance in accessing and manipulating them. I know it won't make any difference to the actual speed of the download process itself - that's obvious.

I would consider a RAID 1 array for better data redundancy, but as all of my computers are regularly backed up onto my server, it's not crucial. Isn't this a bit off topic anyway?

yah sorry just shocked me when you said RAID 0 for her muzik downloads and everything, as I don`t know you or her, typical assupmtion would be you wanted RAID 0 for downloading not Audio Editing and Creation as you have now stated

My bad :)

Back to topic...

P180 case is nice and everything but I`m not sure its worth the routing hassles I think I`m getting pretty much the same temps as when I had an old Antec Server Case (Kinda like the the Chieftec Dragon of old)
