*** Show Off Your Apple Hardware ***

You should have no trouble at all replacing either parts, you just take off the bottom case, and swap them out, it comes with instructions on both and they are both considered user replaceable parts by Apple.

thats good to no mate thanks for the fast reply, how do you find the MBP itself fast enough ??? do you get 7 hours out of it ??? do you wish you had gone for a 15/17 inch or are you happy with the 13 inch model, sorry for all the questions just really want one this year :D

All the MBP's are professional products, I used to have a 990, the base model, 13" one, that was fine, plenty of resources for everything I wanted to do, but I got the oppertunity to upgrade for free, so, obviously I did.

When Apple say you can get 7 hours of battery out of these, they mean it. I take it to college with me every day, and have never taken a charger with me. I always return home with plenty of juice to spare too. :p

I wouldn't mind the 15" model, but then again, I don't know, the 13" is a really good size, big enough. I did look at the 15" but I'd have to get the MB986, the one with the 9600m, so the increased cost precluded me there. The 13" serves me well though.

Edit:

As of today, I now have 8GB of RAM in my MacBook Pro :D

Squeezing as much as I can into the small flat and desk that I have at the moment!

The Macbook is over 3 years old now (you can tell from the hole in the front from the defective plastic used in this model, had it replaced two times haha) but still runs Windows 7 like a dream on my 24" Dell Monitor. Really in those 3 years the specs on the Macbooks have barely improved at all, still the same processor with some more RAM and better integrated graphics!

Also got the iPhone 3Gs there and my Xbox360 to make up for the macbooks ability to play games. Also my Microsoft/Logitect Keyboard/Mouse since I'm not a fan of the Apple ones (have the wireless set gathering dust in my cupboard)

The Satellite speakers do the job too, got a sub for them under the desk and they are pretty sweet!

How are you finding the dacmagic smogsy?

Also what speed is your mac?

Setup looks great.

it was in my post but
Mac Pro Oct-core 2.26ghz 12GB Ram 4870 2TB Storage sickly fast, can get it to google within 13 seconds on bootup. best computer ive owned (i have 3.6 i7 gaming rig)

MagicDAC is amazingly good. far better than the Real-tek Internal sound card. its great for sky to. its just more detailed all around. only thing that annoyed me at first was the high pitched noise from its PSU, but stopped after a few hours of usage. most probably just settling down i guess.
