HDMI just carries the DVI signal. 'Real' screen.? tbh, a pair of 1920x1200 Dell U2412Ms are pretty real!

I meant using a HDMI cable to power a decent monitor. It is no good as a signal compared to Displayport or DVI native.

I wasn't saying your monitors aren't real because they are very nice :D

Utter rubbish.

HDMI uses the same TMDS signalling method as DVI with additional pins for audio and also adds ethernet in the latest spec. Therefore the signal is exactly the same quality if you are using a supported resolution.

Mine with the new RMBP - love it :D

What speakers/DAC you using, I'm in need of some good looking speakers.

Thanks!

15" MacBook Pro with high res anti-glare display.

Put 16GB in, a 1TB drive in an optical bay, and currently got a 60GB Vertex Plus as a boot drive, will pick up a 128GB M4 sometime soon. Still quite quick with the Vertex though even though it's a slightly crap SATAII drive.

A few changes here and there but this my current setup with my new 15" Retina MacBook Pro. Waiting for Belkin to release their Thunderbolt Express Dock so I don't have to keep plugging in and unplugging so many cables!
