Silverstone fortress ft01 bought from the members market for £60, still have cable management tweaks to do.Not using the top fan it's noisy " edit was just a wire catching on it" now using 1800mm fan at top.

Although I have to wonder if something was wrong with your top fan, as mine certainly wasn't noisy. For my ears though I run it at 600RPM rather than the default 700RPM.

Makes a ticking noise, temps are no lower than my akasa eclipse though with any fan combination/ orientation.

Its probably faulty then. Have you contacted Silverstone? I have found them very helpful any time I have contacted them.

It's a second hand case highly unlikely they'll do anything for me without a receipt.

Any reason not to buy the silverstone SST-CFP52B? seems ideal to me looks better than the kama bay and has somewhere for hard drives to go allowing total removal of the lower hdd bays.

Which has given me an idea for using the hdd caddies in the 5.25 bay and bungee suspend them with fishing wire hmmm

Yeah, it doesn't fit in the Fortress. It has a special mounting mechanism only for the Kublai series. I know, I bought, tried and failed to install it

Wow! Such a simple, yet seemingly very effective solution. May give this a go myself, but I will probably get the cut done professionally rather than make a bodged job of it.

5" is a fair bit to overhang, that must be a small desk you have yourself there. A TJ07 is approx 56cm cm deep. I think my desk is 60cm deep.

Oh well its shame that you are getting rid of such a good case.
