Yeah, loving the orange black theme in both PaulyD's and Ginger's rigs.

PaulyD's build, reallllly nice.

Cheers guys :)

Got some LED's to mod the back 92mm fans to have orange leds instead of the white, going to look into changing the fan controller LED's from blue to orange as well

If any body else shows another Fortress build while OC have no stock there is going to be trouble!

Oops ;)

Built today, took quite a few hours to transfer everything from my other case and get it reasonably neat and tidy.

How do you get the top fan filter out of the Fortress? Looks like you need to remove the top optical drive and then some fancy manoeuvreing?

Also Jon20, how quiet is that setup you have? It would be very simmiler to mine if i were to swap my case for one. Thanks.

Its reasonably quiet, not silent but you could hardly call it loud either. I've just this minute adjusted the rpm of the 2 180mm case fans with my 'fan controllers' (i.e stuck in a black noctua speed reducer on each fan). The fans are a little loud to me when there going at max rpm but then I'm used to the noctuas that were running around 900rpm in my Lian Li. With the black adapters on the fans, its a lot quieter to my ears and it doesn't seem to have affected the temps at all. The fans do have a little bit of bearing noise, sort of a ticking noise but quiet enough not to be a real annoyance, not sure if that's just my pair of fans that are doing it or whether anybody elses are?

The top fan filter does look like it might be a pain to get out to clean it, not sure what Silverstone were thinking there. I'm just wondering how you actually get the fans out? Are they screwed in? Didn't seem to be an obvious way to remove them, but then I didn't really pay attention to that when I was building so I've probably missed something really obvious.

I would still recommend getting the Fortress though.

Man i love the SG01, especially in silver :) (and silverstone cases in general)

Only case i like more is my SG03 :D and here it is:

Yeah i really like silver cases (i used to have a tsunami dream in silver back in the day).

Anyway no inside shots as it was abit of a challenge getting it back to gether when i put my gtx280 in it.

That looks really good, and the HDD caddy is a great idea. I bet that really kills the seek noises in this case. Food for thought, if only the decent caddies weren't so darn expensive!

Thanks Diggsy. Yeah the caddy really does cut down on the noise. The only time I ever hear anything from the HDD is when Vista starts thrashing it for a few mins after start up, even then you have to be really listening for it as its so muffled. As you say though, the caddies aren't cheap, especially the GUP Smart Drive. Worth it though if you want to cut the noise down.

cable management dude  hope the inside isn't as bad as the out

Hahaha, dont have a desk, thats jsut my pc on 2 shelves in the corner of my living room so there's nowhere really to hide it all....

Internally its not to bad, i have a modular psu helping it out but the 2 fans on the front generally help it out :)

I love my case

+1 for the GPU, but only use with full size drives, or cooling can be an issue.

Jon20 - why did you not use the supplied GUP cables - that standard profile blue one is much fatter allowing an air/sound path either side...
pingwing - Love that case, it nearly made me go mATX for my current build. But sort these wires out (cable tie them together at the very least)
