****Show Us The inside of your Case!****

Yeah quad dodeca core, so 48 cores @2.3Ghz  not much options for overclocking.

Its does VM's and Folding, pulls 500+K PPD.

Try running Arma 2 as a cpu test. It will run on a nvidia 6800 if need be and if you select 1000 separate AI processes it should push even 48 cores I would guess

Or the big physics crysis videos Ive seen would also use it I think. Reminds me also of the realtime raytracing demo using 3x PS3

New toy

I bought myself a new toy, I'd claim to have built it, but it would be a lie.

I'd take pictures of the outside, but it's so damn big I can't get far enough away in my tiny office.

I've always wondered how 2x closed loop water cooling system would look on boards like SR-2 and now that I've seen it, I must say it looks amazing.

Here's mine,

Yeah, I know, my cable management skill could use some improvements but I can't really hide everything behind the tray without causing a noticeable bulge on the other panel and I regret not buying a modular PSU. ):

I was pleasantly surprised how effectively they cooled as well, I thought they would need to go, but even after over 48hrs at 100% usage neither processor gets above 70, in a very hot room.

I have i7 920 in the same room on a noctua and it will hit 80 after a couple of days rendering!

You know on those mid range water coolers (Kuhler H2O 620 and the corsair variant), you should add an extra fan to the front in a push pull configuration, and they become almost as good as the Kuhler H2O 920.

The 620 only comes with 4 screws, but you only need to use 2 per fan diagonally and it holds them in place nice and secure.

Scrap that, you should buy all new fans, the bundled ones are horrendously loud. Same with the Corsair units too, though I have to say the Antec fans are worse for that. To get the performance to match the price of the unit they need to be full blast and that's just nowhere near acceptable in terms of what I can sit in a room with.

I would but it's quiet and cool, I hammer it 24/7 with 3d Studio and it mostly sits below 60, with speedstep off, idle is between 20 & 30, which isn't far off ambient. It's not broken, so I'm not going to try and fix it, I have enough other rigs to play with.

I'd should mention they aren't stock fans, they are Apache blacks.

They arent loud, my Kuhler 620 stock fan is silent.

Have you actually used them yourself?

Which RPM fans are on the 620? Yeah I have used a number of closed loop coolers including the Kuhler 920. The fans on the Antec cooler are really very bad for noise.

Just looked it up actually, the 620 uses a different fan, so you're right, sorry! :p It's the Antec 920 and Corsair H70 that I've found to be very intrusive with stock fans.

....... Must also add that I have been blown away by some of the pics in this thread. I never knew people put so much into this stuff  It's like suped up cars but with PC's!! The graphics card set-ups, cooling systems & cable management is incredible! Makes my innards look very ordinary :( Some people's innards look like something out of Star Trek!!

'if we take this side panel off, bypass the flux-capacitor & re-route power from the PSU we should be able to get the warp core back online'

Very impressive people ;)

Dont think I posted these two yet, I took these pics after getting my new ram modules and fans recently:

dsc00033ar.jpg

But the ram BSOD'd after just 3 weeks, and went down from 24 Gb to 16-20 Gb detected with each kit installed in alternate channels. The place I got them from had a 28 day guarantee though and they refunded them :)

Shame because I wanted those red headspreaders, but the ram wasnt any better than my Corsair Vengeance, just cheaper so I simply had them refunded.

I got 3x Xigametek red led fans because they have a really good airflow while bing completely silent, and they push loads more air than my red coolermaster fans did. I recently had to change my coolermaster fans back to my cases Antec Tricools, and they needed to be set to medium with audible noise to push the same amount of air that these new Xigamatek ones do completely silently.

I had a single fan installed on the H2O 620 radiator to test the single fan against an Antec Tricool on low, and it was a few degrees better :)

I'm still using a good old Antec P182, this case has aged phenomenally well, and can even fit a Rampage III Extreme, and soon a Rampage IV Extreme if I decide on buying one next year.

Well a small £1000 investment and a few days of your life and you could have the same, should you desire one of the better setups!
I've never been particularly concerned about how my innards look. But after seeing some of the work in this thread I think my next build will focus on this area a lot more. If only to achieve this level of cable management to keep things neat & maximise air flow inside the case. Very impressive stuff. But this looks like it requires cases specially designed for this ...... or is the cable management layout of the case also a modification? Could I take say an Antec Solo II (my favourite PC case right now) and do this sort of thing with it? I love the PSU's as well. They look like they only have the cables needed attached (is this a modular PSU?). That's a great idea becasue about half the cables hanging out the back of my PSU are not used!

Yup modular PSUs.

I've had the following modular PSUs so far and couldnt ever go back to normal ones:

580 Watt Tagan PSU (£90, replace a hiper 580 watt that blew up in 3 months :X)
780 watt OCZ PSU (£68, really nice online offer, but this PSU didnt have anywhere near enough cables :()
1100 Watt tagan BZ PSU (OCUK were selling the last one they had in stock for £109!!! I saw, I bought :)).
