Nah only the 1999 onwards ones had VTEC, they're much rarer and worth a bit more than the earlier versions. The early ones have 16 valves open all through the rev range, the VTEC made it so they went from 8v to 16v above 7k rpm, which was meant to increase low rpm torque and efficiency.
 
So the R1200R has gone but it had to be replaced with something, can't not have a bike in the garage :D

Edit: Just spying the front it looks like it's a twin? Either way you're missing out on a great sound
 
It's a P reg VFR750 (V4) with 30k miles. The plastics need a bit of a clean but it's a solid bike. The midpipe is in good nick and the reg/rec has a fan mounted to it so hopefully that'll never need looking at. The bar grips are coming loose and I'm not sure if I should replace or just remove, clean and do the hairspray trick?

Not sure I'll bother with a pipe, I prefer the stealth approach for motorbikes and I think she sounds pretty sweet stock!

It's had way too little use so I've traded her in as a deposit on a 2017 Honda CRF250L

Sounds like a 2 stroke but not like a 2 stroke...

And you NEED to get a can for the V4, the straight cut cam gear whine is nice, but you need to release the V4 burble. :cool:

I've got a 350mm delkevic on my VFR800, it's just the right sound - not too loud but you get the awesome V4 throb rather than all gear whine.
 
Biker mate is having a Speed/Street(I forgot which) Triple 1050 delivered at some point this week and this can only mean one thing.

My SV650S is going to need replacing :p I jest I jest, we rarely ride together now anyway :(

That will be the Speed Triple. Is it the new model that Triumph just released?
