*** Show us your bikes! ***

Lovely things! I believe that @tom_e had/has one and he liked it too.
Yep had one before my striple, couldn't knock it for what it's supposed to be an absolute missile while still being rideable for hours. Got so much grunt you can basically leave it in third and treat it as a twist and go :D

Made me realise I prefer having to make my bikes work for it a bit more though and I no longer need mile munching ability.

My 2020 S1000XR. Has mainly spent this year commuting a few times a month.. the few times I've been able to find extra time to go and do something the weather has been horrible (aside from a trip to Anglesey in July to go to a car trackday)

I contemplate selling up every winter and then just keep a bike purely for the commuting, with a bit of fun sometimes. Standard aside from the seat which was re-covered (and better foam) by a company called Elsemade

Had a 2017 Fireblade before this but I was starting to get cramp in my hips every single ride and it was uncomfortable doing the hour - 90 minute commute

Why the change?
It's quite a different beast, and looks insanely comfortable, like riding a very fast sofa.
Dont get me wrong I loved the GSA it was my 3rd one 2 x 1250's and 1 x 1200, I even rode this GSA to Croatia and back 2 up fully loaded and it was an absolutely amazing bike for the trip, unfortunately the wife is on the short side and is starting to suffer from hip issues so by the end of the tour, 4170 miles door to door, she was really struggling with getting on and off the bike whenever we stopped for a break/photos etc.

So when we got back to the UK we started talking about how to make it easier for her as the majority of our touring is 2 up so her comfort is important to me or I would have stuck with the GSA  I started thinking about an RT or even the K1600 bagger so as luck would have it got a call from our local dealer informing us of special offers for existing customers etc and was there anything we were interested in so had a quick chat and although they didnt have a Bagger in stock they did have an RT and the GT so off we went.

For some reason the wife wasn't keen on the RT so we took out the GT and she absolutely loved it so its what we came home with, under 3 months old only just run in and massively reduced from the new price and they even threw in the top box with brake light which is over £1k in itself.

So far havent done any long overseas trips but even for touring in the Uk its been an amazing bike the 6cylinder engine is an absolute monster but soooo smooth.

Took delivery of my new CBR 600RR yesterday, ready for the new season:D Bit of a noob question, but what trickle charger do you guys recomend? I belive this bike has a sae connector?

Thanks,
The dealer said the last generation of the Honda CBR600RR, which was sold in the UK and Europe, ended in 2017 due to Euro4 emissions regulations. But back since 2024 (Euro 5+)

The electronics package is excellent, especially the quick shifter.

I believe power is the same as the previous generation 120hp. Exhaust is quieter due to regulations, but that can be changed in the future :D They seem to have added Induction / air intake noise to make up for the exhaust, which is nice.

I'm sure you'll have more than enough fun during the sunny months... Will you be getting an aftermarket exhaust in the future?

I had a Quickshifter on my Triumph Street Triple, So much fun and sounds brilliant....

I use an Optimate on my bike, great bit of kit I bought the wife an Oxford one for her little 125 and what a piece of ***p that was, got her an Optimate as well eventually.

Ditto Optimate 4 I've had for years now. I imagine there are newer ones that can handle the switch to Lithium or Cat Hair or whatever the next type will be.

Well I have been absent from these forums for a while now so thought I would make a comeback and post up a pic of mine on the day I part exchanged my GSA for the K1600GT.

Got some Chinese knock off rear seat cowl winding it's way here, as well as their knock off bar end mirrors...

What a bike though! Feels so much more refined than the 2018 one I had, though the gear lever feels really vague - like your putting your boot into jelly lol, but it's a super slick change nonetheless.

Very buzzy compared to my old one, but I'm sure I'll tune into that, I need to do a gel insert on the seat though, as my rear felt the lack of comfort after 100 odd miles... I guess I was spoilt by the standard Speed Triple seat, as that was all day comfort for me.

The screen and electronics though - my goodness! There seems to be a load of toys and settings, and it even has a phone app lol.

Insurance was frankly a shock though! I expected maybe a couple of hundred quid to change..... Over 700 quid! My underwriter (via Bikesure) wouldn't touch it, so they had to find another policy, and that was the cheapest they could find - the highest was double that! I probably should have looked into what insurance group the Speedy was vs this - but hey ho, you pay it or don't.... just had to lube up and take it lol.

Got 2 years warranty and breakdown cover with the bike as it was 'approved used', I'm probably going to go for their 3 years servicing package - it's £995, but my service in November will be vavles and their book price for that service alone is a grand!

I might have a moan to BMW too, as although the rear has a load of tread, you could feel the flat spot on it in the showroom, and riding it, there's a noticeable transition over this spot.... I might be able to round it off ragging it around some bends - but hey, if I moan maybe they'll chip in for a new rear.

Wouldn't mind getting shot of the puig screen too, but it seems there's an OEM bit of plastic, that is missing behind the clock - and so far, I've not found one on eBay...
