Back when it was a bit warmer - 107.5 MPG

nice but thats only over 6.6 miles ?

I managed 74 or 76 MPG over 91 miles which is pretty good.

on average I usualy get 54 mpg in my honda civic hybrid

Just averaged 39.2mpg on a return trip to Milton Keynes from Nottingham(180 miles round trip) in the scirocco (2.0L tsi gt dsg) which seemed ok tbh.

Cracking 100 is pretty rare. Just the final part of my trip home along the A5. i drive it like a dick at the mo though, 95 leptons to work as my time with current OT is worth more. Sat around 62 this tank... Whoops.

Impressive from that Civic bet mine is quicker aswell though :p

yeh yours probs is bit quicker looking at figures, if im looking at right one, which model year is your insight ? is yours the 1 litre model ?

Yours
Fuel consumption (urban) 68.9 mpg
Fuel consumption (extra urban) 94.2 mpg
Fuel consumption (combined) 83.1 mpg
0 - 62 mph 12.5 seconds

Mine
Fuel consumption (urban) 47.1 mpg
Fuel consumption (extra urban) 65.7 mpg
Fuel consumption (combined) 57.6 mpg
0 - 62 mph 12.8 seconds

seems the first gen insight was damn good for something to get you from A to B.

My vectra over 330 miles is showing 51.2mpg which is about the best I have had for some reason. Thats a combination of town and short motorway journeys..

Limited to town these days and as a result the MPG seems so shocking im worried somethings knackered.

20L of fuel lasted me 60miles, that is at 60miles over the course of a week and a 1/2, so all town, daily commute, stop start, about 13MPG overall. Unfortunately due to how short the trips are now the engine doesnt really warm up enough on the mornings to switch to LPG. It's a cost I am probably going to have to address at some point :(

Teach me to say yes to an old 5 series

Currently I am sitting at around 17mpg, driving around town, especially Brighton is killer for the economy, so many hills :(

Trip from here to the top of the Alps and back netted me roughly 40MPG over just under 2000 miles.

Donkey is doing good considering she's well over 160,000 now.

My average since ownership is now sitting around 39MPG.

im going to go for 100+ mpg over something like 5 to 10 miles just for to see what i can get like Jonnycoupe, will do it thrusday and report back, i got a nice stretch of road in mind :D

I really CBA about getting good MPG any more unless it's a long motorway run in which case 75-80MPH gives me 37-39MPG (or around 450-480 miles to a tank) with a full car, it's too much of a chore anywhere else and gets boring fast so have settled with the average of 21MPG around town ¬_¬

I dont have a trip computer but if i have worked it out correctly (over 13 fill ups) then i get the following...

Me Driving = 51 - 52 mpg

Wife Driving = 47 - 49 mpg

We do use the car at different times of day to go to work, but she also has a much heavier foot than i do.

What engine/trans/age?

2.5L, Manual, 1990 So tbh its probably not far off the mark since it was before the revisions they made from '91 onwards. No idea what the engines really meant to be able to do economy wise so it might just be wishful thinking on my part :o
