Front looks.... odd

that better?

I do also find the front of the 6 series quite an odd looking thing (most likely the lights that put me off, and the square bottom edge of the bonnet that also puts me off most modern BMW's), and is probably a big part of why I don't actually like the car much.

That being said, my 5 series can look funny from some angles too. And if everyone was the same, life would be really boring.

The thing thats a shame with the F10 LCI is the front light cluster. As nobody orders with the upgraded lights any more as Xenons are standard they've all got the base headlights which don't look as nice as the pre LCI Xenons did.

I have just spent 10 minutes trying to find close up photos to show what I mean but can't find any. All the LCI press photos show the optional LED headlights which obviously look great.

See what I mean? You can totally understand why people don't spec the upgraded lights - I wouldnt either if buying new, it isn't worth the money for LED's whereas before you wouldn't have not wanted Xenons so the vis pack was a common choice.

It certainly doesn't have the same effect as new headlights did when they facelifted the E39 or even the E60. Infact I would bet a non F10 enthusiast would struggle to immediately point out which is the newer design..

Kinda. But it doesn't look bad to me personally. In fact, I personally prefer the dual projector set-up at the loss of LED indicators if I'm honest.

That being said, if I had known about the way in which the 5 series adaptive lights worked over that of my previous e91, I would have definitely ticked the LED box.

The actual look of the lights, while might be slightly better looking to you, makes little difference to me (although I do agree the LED lights do look great). But the functionality, had my dealer informed me of what they actually did, would have absolutely convinced me.

Is it really a dual projector setup? My Dad's pre LCI F11 has Xenons but no Visibility Pack (It must be the only one around with Xenons but no vis pack!) and therefore has no cornering lights. As a result the inner light on my photo above actually looks like a projector (rather than the reflector above for the cornering lights) but serves zero purpose. It looks like the one in your picture (But with the LED indicator component of my picture).

Bi Xenon uses a single projector though? Mine are also bi xenon.

The second 'projector' in each headlight is a cosmetic placeholder on cars without cornering lights I think?

Ahhhh. You learn something new every day. Didn't know that. Cheers.

So, the car needed a good wash anyway today, so in failing light, I gave it a wash, and took some better light pics anyway.

Still think I much prefer having 2 projectors to one reflector and one projector. Albeit at the cost of the LED indicators.

I didn't get a picture of it. Some hoop had painted shark face nose art (think WW2 fighter planes) on it.

It truly was a hideous thing.
