Big engined? They're talking about 3L...
The overall average
in 2012 was 1,735cc compared with 1,750cc in 2009.
35mpg out of a 530D??
I got 55mpg on a run out of my old BMW E92 335d remapped and dpf delete with 350bhp and 510ft-lbs of torque! About 30mpg round town
Seems to me Brocky is at the higher achieveable mpg scale with his motorway lorry drafting skills and Fox is at the lower mpg end with his seamlessly endless stop/start runs in traffic with a cold engine.[TW]Fox;28644932 said:It does 45-50mpg on a long run but when doing short trips from cold it's, as you would expect, dire. This is what pulls the average right down.
Just because UK people have an obsession with TINY engines doesn't make 3l big
6l+ = do you own an oil refinery or just your family?
5-6l = intriguing
4-5l = big
3-4l = normal
2-3l = trying to keep up but needs to save some £££
1.4-2l = painful
<1.4l = kill me, kill me now
(Exceptions given to lightweight sports cars)
Depends on where you take the average![]()

2015 model. One of the first of the production line.

New wheel refurb.
*snip*
Who needs big engines when you have small turbo engines now![]()
Who needs mid sized turbo engines when you can have large supercharged engines?![]()
You're getting 50mpg from a 335D ....how?
Also, NA is where it's at? Lol if you had a turbo or something you could have overtaken that GT86 and not tailgated him while jerking off.
*could have.
I didn't realise waiting for him to move out of the way as per the drivers briefing is tailgating, but there we go. Every day is a school day.
