Question on ceramics: Do they actually work well with road use? I thought they needed "Caning" for them to be worth the cost?

Not a dig at the purchase, i literally am intrigued as so many high-performance road cards have them now.

Ask away. Digs welcome too, I am happy with my purchase, don't need pats on the back (I know it wasn't a dig too) so negative or snyde remarks get ignored more often than not these days.

Not really sure, it stops fine but they are a bit, well, snatch at low speeds. When warm and pushing on they are epic but I suspect you're right in that to give their best they need heat, read pace. I have called on them a couple of times since purchase to haul me down from, er, 70, and they do so with aplomb.

As a child whenever I went past Meridien Modena in Lyndhurst with my family I'd always eye these up and promise myself that one day, I'd own one. Picked it up a couple of weeks ago and can't believe it's mine still! The noise is quite addictive though being the 4.2 it could do with being a bit louder.

Do they make a squealing/screeching noise at all when cold? I may be thinking of something entirely different, or confusing it with early ceramic setups..

No Audi fan, but that's one hell of a car.:cool::cool:

I remember seeing/hearing a 996 GT3 RS screeching its way around Russell Square back in the day - those ran PCCBs didn't they? Has the game moved on a bit since 2004?

Some did, most didn't, but they all tended to squeal a bit with brake upgrades most people put on them.

Wow. Very nice. Congratulations.

Nice GTR !!!

p.s. how many takes did you move the car before the wheel cap is the right way up ;) I notice the other photo it isn't so you must have moved it for the close up :D

I believe it's been photoshopped.

Notice the rotation of the GTR logo in relation to the notch for getting the centre cap off. There is inconsistency between pics 2 and 3.
