Show Us Your Motors!

Lol the Skoda isn't being 'dropped' its staying 100% bone stock. It isn't this cars job to look good or go fast, its to do 60MPG and be comfortable and quiet in comparison to the Corolla. :)

I wouldn't say that I paid next to nothing, it is in really very good condition, everything works on it, cam belt was done about 20K ago along with the tensioner and water pump with documented proof, has 4x Goodyear Efficient Grip's on it with life left in them, nearly new disks and pads on the front, new shock absorbers, no rust at all, only slight blemishes to the bodywork, MOT until February 2017 with no advisories on it. The only thing I noticed was one of the exhaust hangers has snapped, thats all. Oh and the remote in one of the two keys doesn't work, but the transponder still functions fine.

Its a 2003 on a 53, and its a 'Blueline' limited edition, which has electronically adjustable seats, electric windows front and back, remote central locking, air conditioning and cruise control as standard.

Engine is a 90BHP 1.9TDI, the pre-PD one. Not winning any races... :D

e; btw we need an updated pic ;)

Yeah but with the other car I'm getting in it, not the Octavia. :p

I love this idea that a Toyota Corolla - a Golf class hatchback - is now apparently some sort of stripped noisy monster yet a Skoda Octavia - a Golf class hatchback - is an ultra refined cruiser.

Bizarre.

Bet you bought it for wind deflectors alone ;)

When is the civic coming then? Have you managed to get anything back for the 'rolla ?

How is an Octavia a Golf class car? Surely it's a Passat class car - far too big to be a small hatch surely?

Stop being a know-it-all. The Corolla isn't built anywhere near as well as a Golf and you know it. The Golf MK4 is also much quieter at speed, because I've been in one... The Corolla also sits at nearly 4000RPM on the motorway, something which the Octavia will not do... Besides, I never claimed it was going to be an "ultra refined cruiser" at any point. The drivers seat is also like a worn out armchair, really comfy. In the Corolla its stiff. Clutch is much lighter too. And it will require less effort in traffic... :p

Also no, the Octavia shares its platform with a Golf/Bora I believe. :)

I used to have respect for you Acme

I'm hoping some of the respect will be re-gained next week when I get my new toy... :D

But for a few days I will be a 20 year old with a grey Toyota Corolla and a diesel Octavia. So coooool!
