Show Us Your Motors!

That parking, i cant believe you actually got in that, i don't believe you got in that :p

there is literally no space at all for you to get out of it. Lovely place you got but no chance i could put up with that lol. no drive, not interested :p

I googled it as I have never heard of the place. Looks like you have some stunning scenery close by! Nice little waterfall on google maps :)

Yeah, I've been very lucky I think.

I might post a thread somewhere else with some photos - don't want to clog up this one anymore than I have already! It doesn't take long to drive down to the beach, and there's mountains/waterfalls/forests which are in walking distance, so you've got everything you need apart from parking!

I didn't say I got into it without touching the cars :p The great thing with an auto is you can let it creep in gear, apply a bit of pressure on the brake and you'll move at about 0.5 mph so you don't damage anything. Next time I'll do a video for you, but for now you'll just have to watch someone else doing it in Nice, which is close by to me and has similar attitudes to parking. :p

If I end up staying long term I'll get myself a proper place with a drive, but this place is incredibly cheap with no deposit or contract so I don't mind a bit of parking ingenuity.

Ill take you word for it. Glad its not like that over here when having to park at the side of the road.

Bet neighbours aint happy that your taking 16 spaces up with your car :p

If you parked like that here you'd have the police called. I've had people stand and watch a full parking manoeuvre into a tight spot after getting within 2-3 inches of a car let alone that :o

Glad we live in a country where it isn't culture to damage other peoples cars to get a space

But it is culture to lane hog on the motorway, flash your lights at anyone who overtakes on a single carriageway road, claim anyone using a merge in turn correctly is pushing in, label anyone exceeding the speed limit as a maniac, and spend evenings posting dashcam videos of people changing lane in front of you on YouTube.

I'll take a few scratches on my bumper over that any day :p

All valid points.

I thought it is common knowledge that the French park bumper to bumper. I would take a guess that 90% of cars have scratches or dents on bumpers but the thing is, none of them care !

Pretty much common knowledge in France... yup...

It's accepted practice in France to "nudge" other cars backwards and forward to make the space big enough for you to get in or out... especially in Paris, but elsewhere too... even includes supercars. I thought it was odd too...

Do you speak for all or? :) I've never known that 'common fact'.

That's my observation when I went over, every car I saw had scratches on bumpers, whether it was new or old. I guess if you've never been, then you wouldn't know it, it's not like something they put on the brochure lol
