That was the R34 based Series 2 Stagea, the Series 1 had the older R33 setup and the new M35 (series 3) uses the V6 VQ25DET engine.

A friend just got a Focus ST so I thought I'd take a picture along with my Cayman S and my other friend's M3. And yes the M3 is in a disabled parking spot...

The M3 is lowered but not coilovers and yes the alloys are replicas but that was how the car was before he purchased it. That said, the car itself is very clean. The interior is much nicer than any other M3 I have seen.
And yes, no plan on modifying the Cayman (is there any need?), it's staying as it is bar needing a good clean

Numberplate on the ST looks ridiculous.

The standard convertible ride height is slightly lower than the coupe anyway, so I don't understand when people lower them further.Any photos of said clean interior? Often when I see people claim clean, I find it's anything but! Not saying that's the case here, but always interested in seeing genuinely clean example

This was the car my friend bought, the seller is his neighbour who went on to get an R34 GTR:

He ended up buying it for under £9k I believe. When I was looking at E46 M3s myself, I was finding cars much more expensive than that to be in terrible condition. Even drove 4 hours each way to view what was meant to be a nice example to come away disappointed. I couldn't find anything like my friend's one.

Agreed plate and grill look rank but It's probably because of the far bigger intercooler behind it that the grill is a custom one.
Orange looks good though in that sea of depressing grey drabness
