Show Us Your Motors!

I've contributed too much **** chat and no motor pictures in this thread. So here is mine after a quick wash today.

I installed a phone charger cable through the air vent where my magnet phone holder sits.

Also LED'd everywhere

I've bought an orbital polisher so hopefully can bring that paint work up nicer. Tempted to waste a load of money on a big exhaust and remap. Should see it near 300bhp.

The 'scene' seems to be half the problem. Does Acme do what he does because he's trying to fit into a 'scene' or because he has genuine interest?

Fit in. Just like every other scene member. Being scene is the new max power rage. Some of the cars I see are stupidly low, stupid tyres, not even road legal. I can see the government cracking down on this.

Yes yes, terrible parking. This is a very narrow road and there truly is no way other for me to park

Really want the rear plastics spraying gloss black but don't want to be wasting too much money ;)

I have a big soft spot for Volvos, especially the T5s. Not many decent examples for sale these days. Is yours a geartronic?

I had a Volvo S60 T5 2.4 remapped to 320bhp. It was fun but the power was tricky to put down in the first few gears. Also the brakes were pretty rubbish.

No mate, I avoided the geartronic and went for manual. I regret not getting the AWD though. Mine is 2.5T with 230hp stock (I think!) I understand that this engine was the Focus 2.3L engined just bored out. Therefore you need to be cautious with how you mod them for power... Or so I'm told anyhow. I do like the sound of the turbo 5 cylinder, it certainly doesn't sound like an old man estate.

My brakes seem alright to me. It's the headlights that bother me, they're crap! Many of the focus parts are interchangeable of course. I think some drop RS clutches in them.

Mine is old and boasts moon mileage, so spending lots of money on it seems a bit daft. However, I wouldn't map and exhaust a new expensive car, I'd want to keep it stock. So I am tempted to mess around with the T5 as I'm not going to be so distraught if it blows up. I love the S60 and would have got one had this V50 not popped up cheap.

I don't want it to be scene as I said, it will be tweaked eventually. But in the mean time I don't mind the look. Its novel. :p

Guys, can we keep this thread on topic please. The last few pages have been ridiculous.

Sorry. :(

I do like that V50 T5. :)

It's the other way around. Ford used Volvo's 2.5 5 cylinder. All of them were 2.5's, no boring required. And yes, as far as the Focus, cylinder liners had a tendency to crack above 300hp.

I think old old straight 5 Volvo's used Audi 5 cylinder 2.3's, and then Volvo made their own, the 2.5 T5, which was then borrowed by Ford, as well as (I think) a 2.4 non-turbo 5 cylinder.

There is wasting money and there is wasting money. Is pouring a load of cash into modifying and doing up a car you like a waste of money? To most people, yes. You'll never get it back. But it's a hobby, and it's what people do and what people enjoy.

The Acme-style wasting money seems different to this. Buy car that is clearly a nail, throw a load of cash at it, get rid of it, rinse and repeat. Just find something you like and stick at it!

I've asked you this before and got ignored, so I'll ask it again:

What's it to you?

C'mon gramps, let the kid have some fun.

Ah, the great british pavement blockade in full effect. Who cares about those pesky wheelchair users and parents with pushchairs anyway? I doubt they even pay pavement tax!

I don't think this is a reasonable comment to make tbh. It's hard to see from the image just how obstructive this is. There might be a perfectly clear pavement on the other side, it may be a cul de sac where everyone knows each other, and this is probably the route of least resistance. I agree that people parking on pavements is irritating but in this instance it's hard to tell just how much it's inconveniencing others. The whole street seems to be doing it too.

I will happy squeeze the push chair though rather than having to push my child on a busy road. If this means a car gets damage so be it. Its infuriating. At least I can hop onto the road if needed, wheel chair users may not have this luxury. Whats worse is when people insist on doing it on a road that can easily accommodate a car parked on the road.
