Show Us Your Motors!

Nor in my E30 :p

But I dare say that if I took it for a somersault like that I'd probably not be here telling you all about it!
get that roll cage going :D I would not want to flip a car older than 10 years tbf.. never mind a vert or a touring that's as old as me.

Depending on which seats your car has, they may have roll loops built into them, that combined with the windscreen frame should save you in theory. Plus yours has a roll bar anyway if I recall correctly? :)

it does yeah, with side supports too.. :D i'd be fine, but no assistant calling me and asking me if I'm ok :(

Sorry but I had to laugh at the fireman reading the wine bottle! I dread to think what would happen in my GT-Four, no ABS and Airbags for a start!

Some old arse. New exhaust and tyres since then!

What car was this?

Nope. Saw the opportunity myself and went for it.

Yesterday morning. Came round a blind bend (genuinely not even at speed, it was cold and wet out) to find a road covered in ice. Couldn't slow before I hit it, couldn't sort out the fishtailing that happened once I was on it.

Lost the car, off the road, four foot drop into farmer's field. Nose first, rolled on passenger side, ended up on roof.

Shot from the fire engine after they cut my seat belt to free me:

Was going to make a thread but I guess here will do.

Amazingly I managed to get out of the car with the help of the fire brigade and walk away from that. My injuries were glass in my hand, a small cut to my face and some whiplash.

I'm one lucky chap.

Ouch, lucky to say the least. I'd never had guessed ice from the pictures, doesn't look cold enough with the lack of frost and all that non-frozen water. Must have been a random patch!

The last two pictures were taken six hours later when I returned to the scene after my trip to hospital. The road was covered in slushy, snowy ice. Whilst I was being freed one of the police cars that attended had a similar issue and ended up binning it in a hedge. The road was closed after to allow it to thaw properly apparently.

It looks like a 35i Z4

It was a BMW Z4 35iS :p

Did the firefighter enjoy the bottle of wine?

He was kind enough to go and get my presents for me, but must not have been impressed as he refused my offer of the wine as thanks for his help :D

Had numerous hot hatches/sports cars, but they weren’t very good at supporting mountain bike and outdoor excursions. It got to the point where my previous car (Civic Type-R) was the wrong car for the job during 90% of my driving time. Enter the Yeti... It’s the 1.8tsi 4x4 (160bhp/250Nm). Added all season tyres soon after buying it and it goes anywhere in all weathers. P.s. hope the photos aren’t too big (posting from iPad!) and snow was cleared from the plate just after this photo was taken.

Surely that's rubbing it in a bit?

It's always nice in a way that the police also had difficulty on the same stretch of road - proves innocence of driving without due care (similar scenario to me 5 years ago - turned my car on its side when I found what seemed to be the only ice on the road at 8am or so. As it turns out a detective was going the other way and nearly slipped straight over when he reached the car).
