Show Us Your Motors!

We know what your next ride is now, a frontera with the badges swapped for Mu ones.

I have plenty of ideas for the next ride, just have to sort out my job situation first! As soon as that happens, you can bet there will be a thread with yet another financial mistake in it. :)

A Frontera isn't one of the possibilities. :p

Check out my orange, banana and apple peel:

To be fair, it isn't the best, there is a bit of orange peeling going on!

When did you get rid of the S3?
What is that? 4 Cabrio?

S3 went around a month ago. And yep, 440i cab.

First thought that came to mind when I opened the bonnet on the 440i. Remove the pointless cover to be greeted by a mess of wiring, vacuum hoses and other gumpf. Nobody takes care to make a neat and tidy engine bay any more as you simply cover the whole thing in plastic, carbon or metal.

Speaking of the 440i, I've not posted it yet.

No guys, there are lots of things ive looked at, ive cluttered this thread up enough for today! If you want to talk about future acme-mobiles then post in my Primera thread or TIAM. :p

No, white is reserved for the top-end leased 420d only. I couldn't afford the rocketship that is the 4-banger diesel. :(

Unlucky. I suggest working harder.

In all seriousness though that's an absolutely gorgeous colour and a lovely car overall. How does it compare to the S3?

The whole car just feels a little more premium (which I think is down to the extended leather mainly), a little softer ride, and a lot smoother power delivery. In terms of outright performance, the S3 instilled more confidence (due to the 4WD) and is faster to 62, but once rolling the 440i is clearly the faster vehicle.

They are both very different propositions however, and use different execution to deliver similar pace. That said, the Digital Cockpit in the Audi is leagues ahead of Digital Dashboard in the BMW. The BMW system feels very much like a knee-jerk reaction to Audi releasing theirs and it offers almost nothing in the way of convenience or additional features over the normal "black panel" display. For example the Audi system will show the navigation map in glorious technicolor whereas the BMW system will show nothing more than the Turn-by-Turn directions that have been available for two decades in the typical multifunction display that most cars have between the dials. It does make the car "look" newer, but it's a disappointment compared to VC.
