Show Us Your Motors!

It’s like the Desperate Dan chin on the car world, chiselled. That or it’s ready to appear in minecraft. The exhausts in new M2 are just Comical too.

It’s odd how everything you describe makes it the perfect car for day to day use on the roads yet you desire the performance that surely the supercars give or the raw driving of the clio? I still am amazed how narrow your garage is. No criticism just observation. :) Like if you were going on trip with some mates the M2 or clio would be the most accommodating?

What garage are you looking at? The double garage takes both the 458 and 600 and I can open the doors fully with them inside and drive them both straight in with several inches either side and enough room to machine polish all around, seems adequate to me, of course bigger is always better but I have enough space to work in. The single garage to the side is more than big enough for the Corvette as it is nearly 6M long and just shy of 3M wide.

The new M2 had not much in way of feel and it hid speed, triple digits was a none event. I guess when I drive a special car I like it to be an event, but I also like some fun in the daily drive which the GR, Clio and M2 has, I don't need these cars its just fun and something I enjoy. End of the day I could sell the lot and just keep the M2 or GR and put cash in the bank, but that is been sensible, gotta YOLO. :D

I think he meant your collection of cars all fit a fairly narrow profile of similar characteristics, not that your garage is physically narrow :p

Fair enough, like I say I don't need them, its just I love cars, plus I tend to buy well so if I move something on any hit money wise is minimal, its not free motoring of course.

Had poor wording, the range of cars is what i meant! The Alfa was the vaguely sensible one but thats now gone? Reality ike you say is you are holding desirable assets so the collection is based on want rather than need.

I did wonder, and yes its a case of want, not need.
Also no one knows the true lifespan of the motor car, what new rules, restrictions will come in to place and of course my own health. I am currently in a healthy position both in myself and financially and currently we can still enjoy cars somewhat on the road and still plenty of tracks to visit. In another 10 or 20 years no one knows where it will go so right now I am enjoying life and enjoying motoring. Also few recent car changes I've made have essentially been free motoring and getting to try different stuff.

The Alfa was a great car, but I ticked that box and sold it on for a grand less than I paid nine months previously, to me that was good motoring as with money I spent on it I took around £2000 hit on it. Whereas the two Porsches basically made me close to 10k profit, in the end it balances out nicely and I can tick boxes of on cars I have wanted and do so at minimal cost. Not about making money though but enjoying what I love and its a bonus if it can be done with minimal cost. Of car the tax, servicing and and insurance bill on the fleet is just shy of £10,000 per year so it is not cheap, add fuel on top.

Long term keepers is always an unknown the 458 is now with me five years now, but I think I prefer the 600 LT, the Mrs prefers the 458, no idea which will be more reliable long term, the 458 was doing great until its gearbox failed, the 600 extended warranty is far better than Ferrari's cover nothing warranty. The 360 is the more sensible supercar, far easier and cheaper to fix, also engaging at lower speeds and a true event to drive. End of the day its great to have such decisions to ponder. :D

Oh, I didn't realise that. I'm guessing that it's an attempt to cut costs by platform sharing somewhat?
A shame, but I guess the weight wont matter to a lot of customer as long as it still performs.

The 1 Series platform is front wheel drive now - not the best start for an M car. So, the 2 Series Coupe is now a shorter 3 Series. This gives it a better interior as well.

Aw just look at its cute little smiling face. Congrats on your first car after passing your test

thank you, mum and dad said I did well and then I sent them to gappistan and never spoke to them again.

How did you fit 4 wheels to your yellow seats?

yellow seats sold this weekend... I'm making @Greebo dream come true and un-pimping the s2k ;) or am I..

Picked up an old Boxster S last week. Done around 700 miles so far and loving it.
